Being Irish, I'm delighted that our government is adopting a more realistic viewpoint - no settlement without compromise within the context of an agreed solution under the framework of international law. Read Good Friday Agreement.

Dim Tuc, the right self determination applies to nations like Tibetans, Tamils, Kurds and Palestinians. It doesnt cover K-Albanians since you are a constitutent ethnic minority in a greater polity, e.g. Serbia and that you have your own state - Albania whereas Tibetans, Kurds, Tamils and Palestinians dont.

Now Jovan, what was that Gaelic Irish saying of yours.

my dear doni, I didn´t expect to see an Albanian still claiming to be of illyrian descent at all..
since it is absurd, YOU BELIEVE it, that´s right! but nobody else does!

and, what´s also quite remarkable:

there are also educated Albanians who know that it is nonsense, what you believe in!

"Ardian Vehbiu, an Albanian scholar is doubtful that there is even an Illyrian component in the Albanian population at all. So do all the scholars quoted in this work.

There is an Illyrian myth, with which Albanian culture has been flirting for at least 150 years, and as a myth it can't be questioned (for it has all the answers)"

check it for yourself, educate yourself!

perhaps, starting to learn about real history ( not that illyrian-phantasy you´ve been thaught ) would be a good thing for the beginning.
(Jovan, 10. November 2007 14:52)

yea, for serbs the illyrian history is not real, but for us it is. it's our history, and even today we are the only people in balkans who are proud to use illyrian names, history, words, despite our neighbors are discriminating about this.
Serbs always never accept our culture, history, language, freedom. they just can't. something is wrong with you.
Being illyrian is not a sign, but for you it is. Especially for the religious ones, remember this. The idea is dangerous for the beleivers.

Afrim, You are clearly a very angry man. Sarcasm is not a nice trait.
If you stopped for a moment and gave it some thought instead of just spewing the same propaganda and mentioning Milosevic you will see that there are many more countries supporting Serbia than just Russia.
Perhaps you know this and it pains you to accept it but that is your problem.
You keep clinging on to Milosevic as your savor in some way. By blaming all that went wrong on him you think that you can keep playing this victim card for ever and continue to enjoy support of the whole world.
Wake up and see that the whole world never supported you and never will.

Start looking at yourselves and stop blaming Milosevic for everything that went wrong with your plans to ethnically cleanse Kosovo and create Great Albania.

what I wanted to express with that comment,... is my optimism about the future of Serbia, and furthermore of the whole region.

unfortunately the B92-censors deleted a line written in irish/gaelic that was meant to express that optimism...

seems like those B92-editors can´t distinguish simple motto´s referring to economic progress from racist-comments so often written by the Albanians here...

when I was reffering to Serbia as a sleeping lion, it was meant economically...

I am sorry if you got it wrong! but that shows in which categories you are thinking...

let me inform you: states like South-Korea,Singapur,Hong Kong, etc. ... those in Asia that have made a huge step towards economical developement are being called tiger-states... I bet you didn´t know that this has nothing to do with nationalism...but that´s perhaps beyond your horizon at the moment.

Yeah PEGGY keep thinking that "Clearly more countries are of the same opinion as Serbia", you can dream as much as you want to but CLEARLY the situation is totally different where as many or i should say 99% has the same opinion as Kosova. that 1% is Serbia and Russia who are still using the systems of the past, the systems that will only keep Serbia sitting in the past.
JOVAN, I think its time for you serbs to start working and progressing and not just sitting down and talking high such Serbia is a lion, Serbia is a tiger, serbia is a giant, serbia this or Serbia that. Instead, get up and work, show that serbia is a lion by work not by words. Rhetoric was used by Milosevic but.... then Milosevic sent Serbia to a total chaos and loss. Sorry for using some harsh words, but they were used in no way to offend Serbs or Serbia but just to show the sad reality that Serbia stands at with people who only know how to use rhetoric full of nationalism.

"How did Ireland develop a higher per capita than England?"

Well, it didn't start before ireland got its long dsired *complete independence* from British rule, did it?

Here is another country which shares the same views on what is best for the region. Compromise and no deadlines on solutions.

Economic co operation is of mutual interest as well so as the deadline approaches I wonder how many countries will rethink the idea of having their peace keepers in Kosovo after December 10.

Clearly more countries are of the same opinion as Serbia and wish to develop better political and economic relations with them. Being caught in the cross fire is not in the interest of EU and the UN will find itself unable to make any real solution.

How did Ireland develop a higher per capita than England?Serbia would do well to learn and follow the economic plan that propelled Ireland to fortune.

Jovan

Serbia is a sleeping lion, and once these problems are settled, Serbia will be the motor of the whole region.

so, by having good relations with Serbia, Ireland is looking towards a good future in the Balkans.
