NATO can do a lot to stabilize the Balkans by making Albania-Macedonia-Montenegro-Croatia immediate members so that they can all closely coordinate their activities in concert with the Serb security forces to alienate the extremists-criminals-Islamists from establishing any kind of beachead in the Balkans. In Kosovo itself NATO Greek-Bulgarian-Romanian Special Forces should be stationed in Serb areas and German etc. forces in the Albanian areas because it is becoming obvious that the Kosovo status issue will take longer to settle than the Cyprus issue but as long as nobody turns to violence than the average person can go about his daily life.Whether an individual in Kosovo prefers a Serbian or Albanian passport will not have too much relevance in the near EU future.
