Peter,
I respect your opinion on this matter but I find it difficult to accept that you are trivializing Croatian, Bosnian and Albanian crimes by calling these people hooligans.

They are far from hooligans. Maybe we don't have all the evidence and maybe world propaganda has minimized their crimes and maximized some Serbian crimes but it doesn't mean that these people were hooligans.

is very interesting.

I am not saying that bad things happened but sometime they are blow out of proportion.
History is written by the winners and Serbian side hasn't come out fully to the world while the other sides have not only been upheld but in many case exaggerated.

I am astonished by Albanian way of thinking. They are supporters of their own criminals. They do not condemn the crime but they actually do support. This is trully sad. I no longer wonder why Kosovo is such paradise for criminals. Kosovo's citizens do nothing in bringing them down and yet more Albanians provide shelters for criminals and crime.

Because, simply put, Mladic alone is of a much higher caliber of war criminal for his actions in Srebrenica than any Albanian or Croat. The death toll inflicted by Haradzic and co. has not been seen since Jasenovac in WW2.

Of course I agree that all criminals must be brought to justice, though Serbia should be trying harder to get those I mentioned than some Albanian hooligans and extremists.

My dear friends, this way you are discriminating your citizens (of serb nationality), if you do not also start investigations against all those who have done horrible crimes all over Balkans (members of the Army, Police, some top officials, etc). And not only those above mentioned, but also to all your citizens who didn't do anything to prevent mass killings of their neighbors. These investigations should have started a long time ago (the one who wanted to do something in that direction, was killed brutally, and it was a prime minister), in order to denazificate your nation, and it should be a top priority for all democratic politicians in Serbia, if you want to have bright european future. This is another step of your officials in worsening possible future good relations between two neighboring countries.

Peter, Your comment about Serbia capturing their own criminals first before they go after others is simply not fair.
Serbia HAS sent their own to Hague including Milosevic.
What has Croatia, Bosnia and Albania done?
Are you truly saying that Serbia should make sure that every Serbian on the wanted list is caught before they have the right to go after the others?
If the other countries put as much effort in sending their criminals to Hague as Serbia has then I think your comment would be fair.

Why are there more Serbs in Hague than anyone else? Not because there is more Serbian criminals but because Serbia has handed theirs over.

So unless Serbia hands over every wanted man to Hague they have no right to expect the others to be tried.
How about we reverse it and demand that Croatia, Bosnia and Albanian hand over EVERY criminal they still have and then we will concentrate on the Serbian ones?

John

the west and the masses keep pointing the finger at serbia by stating that they have not handed over mladic and karadzic. first, no one knows where they are, they could be in bosnia, montenegro, russia or anywhere else, just like gotovina who was caught in spain.

second, serbia is the country who has handed over the most suspects to the hauge, just look at the numbers and its completely legitimate that they arrest and prosecute any suspects in any crime.

people on this post expect serbs to first prosecute mladic and karadzic (who in my opinion are protected by the west) before the albanian criminals who started the war in kosovo. what would the point of that be? prosecute the criminals as you get them, that is the only fair way. its funny how people still keep on going back to the 1990's. why not just go back, to 1300's and then we can start with turkey, muslims, natzis, fashists and CROATS.

everyone should be happy that bad guys are going behind the bars. and as far as the comment that most of kosovos politicians would be in jail, well they should be if they committed crimes and according to the posters here, even you aledge what most of kosovo's government

Simple Minded, 12,000 dead.

2,000 are still in Serbia proper, and missing supposevely.
In Serbia it seems war criminals get elected HEROs and civilians get put in trenches.

"International community concluded that during the war in Kosova(o) approx 10.000 Albanians and 600 Serbs were killed."

10,000 was figure made up by NATO, where as 600 is the number of Yugoslav citizens killed by NATO and doesn't include who the KLA killed.

Peter Sudyka

Here I stand with the Albanians. Before Serbia sends out warrants for Albanian war criminals, they should capture Karadzic, Mladic and other Serbian war criminals still at large. It is indeed stupid of Serbians to point fingers at Croats, Bosnians and Albania for war crimes without putting in the effort for capturing theirs first (and it seems they have put little effort into it from what I see).

On the other hand, Croats and Albanians appear to be equally in denial of their war criminals, always accusing the Serbs first. When will it end?

I can see sometimes why we use the word "pastuchy" for peoples in the Balkans...

Zeka

Is there an objective, independent list of the crimes committed during the separatist insurgency in Kosovo Metohija? If there is, I'm sure it's not perfect but would be a lot better than the hyperbole one reads on these threads.

The fundamental law in the western countries is “everybody is equal before law”. International community concluded that during the war in Kosova(o) approx 10.000 Albanians and 600 Serbs were killed. When I read the article “Serbia investigates 160 Albanians for war crimes” (whereas almost no Serbs are investigated) I conclude that for the Serb judiciary system the a.m. fundamental law of the developed/civilised countries is not valid. Not a very convincing argument to convince Kosovars become part of Serbia.

Victor: "Serbia should start by investigating iuts own war criminals, instead of prosecuting others!"

They are. Kosovo is still legally part of Serbia and the Albanians are Serbian citizens.

The ITCY has tended to focus strongly on Serbs, and Belgrade has also held war crimes cases against Serbians, therefore it is logical and fair that these Kosovans can be tried in a Serbian court.

By the way, what is Croatia doing about its war criminals, Victor?

Peggy

pre 16 godina

I can see that the Albanians have already declared their own innocent. Especially when such a remark is made that if they have a hundred then there must be thousands of Serbs guilty.

This is a statement made without any proof. Empty accusations don't help.

Also this somehow proves to the Albanians that they cannot live under Serbian rule. If someone is guilty it shouldn't matter what race they are. So why shouldn't Serbia go after criminals? Or should Serbia only go after Serbian criminals as anything else will be viewed as further proof of persecution in the eyes of the Albanians?

Dejan

@Victor
According to your post, in that case Americans shouldnt chase Osama Bin Laden but only their own criminals. Think on what are you posting before you do it. Or is it that everubody has some rights, but Serbia doesnt.

billy

no, victor, i'm afraid that this is an attempt to have the real (and whole) truth told. unfortunately, at the time of the wars, the serbs didn't buy the help of propagandists, like the croatians, albanians, and bosniaks did.

the last truth told will be the one longest remembered.

Cheers for denial teni!

Yes. They will be caught sooner or later. As I have heard from inside sources at the Hague, another 13 Albanians who doesnt know it, will be brought there.

teni

Well one more reason for accepting nothing less than independence. Because I am sure that the Serbs have included every single Kosova politician in it. So I wonder how autonomy or the Hong-Kong model would help Serbia address this problem? Does Serbia plan to give Kosova self-rule and then arrest all its political class?
Would the Albanians be granted the same right, i.e. to arrest Serb politicians? And if the Serbs have 160 in their list, you can rest assured the Albanians will have a few thousand. After all the number of perpetrators is very likely to be proportional to the number of crimes committed.
