Rehn: SAA initialing tomorrow

The EU and Serbia will tomorrow initial the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), says Olli Rehn.

What a joke. Serbia is the last country that should be given this privilege. I guess this signals the looming loss of Kosovo. Its certain now the EU will recognise Kosova's independence from Serbia.

This might be the last positive news to come from Serbia for a while.

Kosovo and elections mean a decidedly dodgy period awaits us.

It is just the initialing of SAA and does not mean an obligation to either the EU or Serbia but a commitment by Serbia to fullfill SAA objectives and yet no commintment on behalf of the EU to Serbia's accesssion.

Beyond which just highlihts the "political" decision process of the EU rather then the "economic" or "social rehabilitation" elements for Serbia and the wider Western Balkans as a whole.
