It would have been very interesting if the questions of this poll were of a more qualitative nature. Specifically it would have been great to know the respondents’ attitudes if they were to consider treating albanians as equals and how far they were prepared to grant them civil, constitutional rights.

Jovan,

Please relax. First I am a Serb, female and proud one to be Serb. The reason I mentioned partition is some kind of peace agreement that can be sustainable in long term. The reality is that we don't want to live with each other. Do you want Albanians one day to run Serbia? Do you think we can be normal country with them, the one who is always complaining and in the past we have learnt what kind of strategy they used to reach their aims. Do you really want to deal with same problems in Serbia in the future. Think not. Do we or you really want this? I don't want new Palestina in Serbia, in Europe. We just have to be clevar enough and divide Kosovo in such way that is suits our own interests. The thing is Jovan that we have no enough support from really relevant factor even though the law is at the our side. We have to learn how to swim in this demonstration of the world's power nowadays. Perhaps you saw already that law has no any function any more when it comes to international circules and the superpowers are breaching it each day. It is enough to see Iraq and what is going overthere. Or just remember how Serbia is bombed without approval of UNSC. But, who knows, maybe the things get better for us and maybe this time the law will work. Lets hope. And yes, when I talked about partition it was just my own opinion and I clearly stated so.

To 'KS',

You are showing your bias and attitude with comments like that. If it were to me I would partition KosovO and give the Presevo Valley also also build a wall the Isreali's and Chinese would declare a masterpiece. If you want to be independent that badly, I would let you have it, but I wouldn't count on any co-operation with Serbia in the future. We will see what Pristina will look like in 20 years, I am sure a vast contrast to Belgrade. That is one thing you don't have to be a genius to work out. Now lets hear it from the Albanian camp that Pristina will be the business and cultural centre of the Balkans and maybe even Europe. What a joke! I am sick and tired of the concessions Serbia continually has to make and justify it's actions to minorities when no country in the west even come close to doing what they demand of serbia. Let them have their independence, but govern the balance with pride and some common sense, meaning no special treatment for any minorities.

@ Mike,

When the time comes my friend, when the time comes. It is getting near though, but anyway, when we are done with those secondary items, we will not even show them to you at all. We are headed West, not East like yourself! Nice try though!

Show me your UN seat.
Show me your non-Monaco calling code.

And most importantly, show me that you will not be under the administrative authority of the EU for the indefinite future, which is what the final status is looking to be.

Until I see them, you're not independent.

the main problem with this poll is that it does not take into the account what those who live in Kosovo say. I am a Kosovar and I am not going to ask anybody outside Kosovo what the Kosovo status should be.

bmrusila,

you should not tell Serbia what is best for it´s own.

autonomy is the best outcome.
and as it seems the majority in Serbia sees things differently from you.

there is absolutely, and I will say it again, ABSOLUTELY no reason to give away presents ( serbian territory ) in order to reward albanian terrorism.

perhaps, you should add to your comments that it is your own personal opinion you are expressing.

Kosovo is no burden for Serbia, it is Serbia´s southern province with a significant number of cultural and religious sites.
no presents, no bargaining, international law. fullstop.

last but not least,
if you are an Albanian, you should declare yourself as one.

How can you take a gallop pole with people from anothwer country for the country next door. When referendum was held in canda it was held only in Qubec and not entire Canada. Now, serbia includes Kosova in its constituiton without consulting Kosovars, imagen that.

when was the last time the people of kosovo had a voice in ANYTHING serbia does anymore?
ohh i guess maybe its not part of serbia anymore and this polls are just a hypothetical stab in the dark of colective democracy.

Honestly speaking, the partition is the best solution which is very likely to happen in natural way after the independence proclamation. In my opinion the independence would be the best option since Kosovo is such burden to Serbia and its citizens. This is not the issue related to joining EU but simple pragmatic solution once for good. When I speak in favour of independence I mean the independence after partition. Any autonomy would not make any good either side in long term. It is time to move on and lobby as much as possible in favour of partition. Serbia should turn itself and working on raising the economy and standards, working on its own development without expecting anything from anyone.
