Thanks EA.

It's a closer number than any I've seen you note.

I think you may have missed on the claim that UNMIK has a system to allow the ethnically cleansed to vote. However, if it is there, it appears that UNMIK has buried the document deep into their website (perhaps the trash). I couldn't find it. One would think, if they were serious about including minority refugees in the process, that they would have it on the front page of the website. The fact that it's not shows that they care not for these people.

In nine years, the UN has aided in making Kosovo monoethnic and very undemocratic.

Limited, those displaced refugee statistics are rising by the day.

Also those "300,000" can vote --- from Belgrade. Go to unmikonline.org and you can find the form to fill out and send to the office of elections in Kosova.

I can't see how boycotting the local elections can serve Kosovo's Serb communities. Specially in Strpce.

As for the central government: I could imagine the Serb parliamentarians to start some (tri-lingual) blog where they describe all their frustrations. "naming and shaming" will help their cause more than some boycot.

The boycott is the correct position. Albanian Kosovo is a total failure from a multiethnic standpoint. Voting in this election is not democratic, it's a certification of genocide conducted by the Kosovo Albanians and enforced by UNMIK. Without giving the approximately 300,000 displaced minorities from Kosovo without a chance for participation or representation, this election is completely monoethnic whether they participate or not.

No Albanian mayor will ever run lives of KosovO Serbs. That's a fact.

That's funny, I can find you Kosovar - Serbs who have a Kosovar-Albanian mayor. Where are you living?

In my opinion, to be fair and clear, Serbs in Kosova should not ask neither Pristina or Belgrade what to do, but only the International Community and its representatives, in this case UNMIK. Kosova will be led by International Community and they are the keyholders of the important decisions. They are the people Serbs of Kosova should talk to and ask for advice.

The main question K-Serbs need to be asking is where will their capital be? Belgrade or North Mitrovica? When all is said and done, voting or not voting means little to a Belgrade official. Serbs in Kosovo need to start asserting their own individuality and their own rights. Albanians are not going to give it to them, and Belgrade Serbs are not interested in giving them any particular freedoms away from Belgrade. Regardless of what happens to Kosovo, K-Serbs will have to take matters into their own hands, and a good way to start legitimizing their political independence from both Belgrade and Pristina is to particpate in these elections.

If K-Serbs are going to listen to what Belgrade tells them to do, so be it but you guys will not have control even in the Municipalities that are run by you at this time. Don't blame K-Albanians if a K-Albanian Mayor is elected in your Municipality and will run your daily lives. You asked for it.

Mr.Prorokovic, it is clear that you don't intend good perspective for Kosovo, but at least don't confuse K-Serbs and their good perspectives in Kosovo... Let them decide about their future...
Good luck to independent Kosovo and everybody who feels as Kosovar and part of it and act like that...

Everyone can tell from these statements how much Belgrade really cares for "compromises" and "negotiations" to solve the Kosova issue. The Kosovar Serbs should not listen to the Belgrade propaganda. The choice is simple either get involved/partecipate in Kosova's institutions and fight for your legitimate rights there or stop complaining about being isolated and victims.
