" the Russian pipline if realised will pass trough it + gas storage. The IT company from India is coming in Vojvodina too and it will be the biggest investement in Serbia so far (greenfield) if realised. "

Now, who has the 'vested' interest in Vojvodina's independence? The US? lolol..
No wonder Putin/Russia is forcing the int'l community's focus on Kosova's independence. They're laying the groundwork for Vojvodina's independence, so they can have their little sphere of influence against the backdrop of a Bondsteel Kosova and a "military neutral Serbia".

Clean Cut

Vojvodina is Serbian problem, not Albanian problem. Kosova is our state for which we care and work for. It would be nice that everyone expessed their freedoms and ideas, even this guy Kostres, and maybe listening to what he is saying would be less harmful than maybe fighting him on the street tomorrow...just a suggestion though.

I have loads of family in Banat & they have never said anything bad of Belgrade. Even the Romanian side in my family don't complaine. Romania is in the EU and still they stay in Serbia. Its the Hungarian political people that start stuff. I don't belive in provinces, it should all be Serbia. EA, and camp Albania, you would love to see Voivodina declaire independence and Serbia suffer. Your lucky if Kosovo gets independence. Don't worry Voivodina will solve their problems with their minds not bombs unlike the Kosovo Albanians (kla). The flag of Serbia flies high in Voivodina with pride and the support of its people. Macedonia, your right thats Macedonia not Albania. Why do these countries have to dancer through hoops for the Albanians, when the Albanians should just conform to their host country. Thats how its done in other countries around the world. Love it or leave it!

"It is interesting that you mention Vojvodina as a colony, the last one of Serbia. That reminds me my visite to Sovenia years before the break-up of Yougoslavia. There too the common complaint was that they are exploited by Serbia."

Joe, Slovenia objected to financing the financial black hole that was and still is ethnic Albanian dominated Kosovo.

With just one "little" difference Joe:in Slovenia live Slovenians and in Vojvodina live Serbs who feel insulted and disgusted by Albanian,Hungarian etc. calls to tear apart their own fatherland....i myself have cousins in Vojvodina and i can only imagine looks on their faces and words they would use for Kostres and Albanian posts here about their Serbian Vojvodina...LOL

Lenard,

It is interesting that you mention Vojvodina as a colony, the last one of Serbia. That reminds me my visite to Sovenia years before the break-up of Yougoslavia. There too the common complaint was that they are exploited by Serbia.

Kostunica is right to centralize the government. Europe is trying to come together as one, as should Serbia. No more divisiveness in Serbia. Those are policies of the Tito era, policies of the past, which were simply meant to weaken Serbia's influence.

you are so right someone who represents a mere 5% has very little sway and I guess he is despearte to cling on that he makes such naive remarks about only vojvodina while ignoring the state that he is in. I guess he is happy to have a radical party heading in vojvodina because he cant be ignorant of the fact that statements like his just ensure people vote in the opposite direction from him to make their real voice heard!

If Kotress really wants decentralisation he should not for get that vojvodina is in itself 3 seperate regions - thus if he realy wants local government devolved fully ther would not be a Vojvodina but a Backa, Srem and Banat.

And one more thing you should know:Serbs from Vojvodina, who make 70-75% of the population there, are much bigger nationalists and hardliners then Serbs from Belgrade and central Serbia.Thats why SRS is the strongest party there, and they will probably take power in the next provincial elections. After this "support" that Vojvodina gets from our beloved Albanian posters i am almost sure SRS will win absolute majority there, they already have mayor of Novi Sad and bunch of other local municipalities in the province...

Fairplay

pre 16 godina

The majority of population in Vojvodina understands that they are living in better conditions that the rest of the country it is why it's normal to redirect some ressources of the province to other parts of the country.

It's happening everywhere in the world and it's just a normal thing. Still, Vojvodina, with everything Belgrade takes from it will always be the most developped because it is lucky to have that geographic position. the Russian pipline if realised will pass trough it + gas storage. The IT company from India is coming in Vojvodina too and it will be the biggest investement in Serbia so far (greenfield) if realised.

So there's no reason to cry really and be so selfish like this Kostres is.

Pete,
What did you mean

So,don't worry about Serbia EA,we are fine:-)

Do you really want to lose more territories in the future? Listen to these guys NOW before it will be two late and then start looking for "compromises".
It doesn't bother me personally but Koshtunica is messing up the future of your coubntry. If you really love him good luck to you. And you will need really the luck on your side

Belgrade will never stop exploiting Vojvodina. It is to late anyways. Serbia proved to people of Vojvodina that they are nothing more than last unbroken slaves of ex-Yugoslavia. Vojvodina oil, sunflower, corn and money end up in the hand of the mighty Belgrade. In the meantime violence and tension is rising in the province.

Pete

Please, spare us of your pathetics EA,this guy Kostres doesn't even have 5% of the votes in Vojvodina, its the fault of DS cause it gave him this post to us for his stories.Anyway, elections will be soon and this guy is going to the political trashcan. So,don't worry about Serbia EA,we are fine:-)

Lenard

pre 16 godina

That is what Serbia has been and is doing. Taking assets ,money ,plundering the wealth just as before ask the former Yugoslav republics. Old habits die hard in Belgrade. Vojvodina you are right ,you are treated as a colony but it could be worse. Just ask the former republics what happens when you say no more taking our wealth and giving nothing back.

EA

pre 16 godina

Fair comment! With leaders like Koshtunica Serbia is seriously risking to losing more territories. Listen to Vojvodina's concerns NOW otherwise it will be too little and too late. Can Serbia and its people afford another war and defeat?
