" At today’s NATO Assembly seminar in Belgrade, Boland said that Serbia could have as big an army as it could afford, though he reiterated that over the last few years Serbia had invested very little in its armed forces."

Maybe because indirectly all the ex-yugo wars that Serbia initiated has decreased the Serbian market economy?

"Furthermore,Albania-Macedonia-Montenegro-Croatia should be brought into NATO in 2008 and given primary responsibility for keeping law and order among their ethnic kin in these volatile Balkan quagmires.

Luciano, I agree with you that these Balkan countries should join NATO asap but given primary responsibility to keep law and order is far fetched.

All these countries are against Serbia in some way. I can assure you that if Serbia sends troops in Dec 10th to Kosova than Albania will follow suit. Just read the minister of defense (?), he had to resign because of a comment he made (relating to Kosova and Serbia).

I don't think letting any of these countries as police is a smart idea.

NATO wants Serbia to scale down what? Please there's nothing to scale down. Furthermore, Serbia didn't want NATO to bomb her - why should we listen to NATO (which, by all accounts is a US puppet).

Why should we listen to anyone who to date hasn't provided accurate information as to why the targets were "missed"? With all of the technology & unlimited monetary funds linked with NATO, there is no excuse for this error - what's the reason NATO? SRAMOTA!!

The Serbian Army is highly professional and needs to work hand in hand with NATO in order to coordinate their upcoming strategy for suppressing what are surely going to be attacks by the Islamists when the status solution does not go their way.Furthermore,Albania-Macedonia-Montenegro-Croatia should be brought into NATO in 2008 and given primary responsibility for keeping law and order among their ethnic kin in these volatile Balkan quagmires.
