December ballot looking likely

Despite the continuing dispute over the election schedule, it’s looking ever more likely that December will be the chosen date.

"SRS will take part. Disgusting or not."

i find it funny, not disgusting. they always take part but they can never ever win. even when they win they cant win, remember seselj-lilic, or milutinovic was it, or both maybe :)

they are harmless bullies and also very useful sometimes when our honorable leaders want to scare someone they use srs.

Slavko an SRS President is unlikely and only possible if Kostunica and narodna coalicija back Nikolic.
They wont do this because people have a habit of staying with a party they previously voted for.
Either that or SRS must get 50 percent support.

I believe a boycott would be most damaging to Kostunica as in the end part of DSS supporters will back Tadic through fear of Nikolic.

SRS will take part. Disgusting or not.

Could someone please explain the Serbian presidential elections, or the election process for that matter. Is it pssible to have a coalition government which excludes the Radicals, and to have a president from the Radical party. And if so, what powers would that president have if his party is neither the ruling party (majority) nor part of the coalition. Personally, I am all for Tomislav Nikolic, but how much can he do when elected.

Tadic is not that naive nor so weak to run from difficult choices. I believe it is highly unlikely that he would want to have elections on the 9th December as it would reflect immediatly on him that he had bottled it and hand the Presidential post directly to Nikolic.

March/April are the most likely dates for Presidential and local elections which will be "called" before the legal requirement of the 31st December.

I hope the SPS and the SRS boycott the elections... this is disgusting... Tadic wants to be in power when the Nationalism strikes and they can't do anything about it then.

but what do you expect there "Liberals"

Whatever happenes in Serbia on the election that should not effect the Kosova status solution. EU and USA agenda should be finilised on the 10th of December 2007. No more direct "negotiations" with Serbia after the 10th of December for Kosovar Albanians unless Serbia hasn't recognised the Kosova independence.
