"I believe the Albanians should boycott the elections too. Elections should be held after the status is settled - not before - so that the people can decide who is the best leader for the new situation."

Wim you're completely missing the point. Deciding to boycott is an individual decision taken by each individual not taken by others on your account.

To answer one of our dear Serb posters. You should have told Kostunica and his cronies to include Albanians in the voter lists when the Constitution was voted. I wouldn't claim that a state which willingly denies the right to vote to people which it claims are citizens (20 % of the population at least) of Serbia, is a democratic state. So there's to possibilities.
1. It is a military state or a dictatorship of any kind where the right to vote does not exist.
2. It is a democratic state for only some, while second class citizens are not allowed to vote and this denial of the right to vote is institutionalized.
I wouldn't want to be part of this state for anything; and I would fight with till the end to leave in a state which does not discriminate me this openly. If that means declaring independence from it then so be it.

I believe the Albanians should boycott the elections too. Elections should be held after the status is settled - not before - so that the people can decide who is the best leader for the new situation.

The present elections are an effort by Kosovo's corrupt leaders to cling to power.

Do you have any good Albanian politicians for Serbia to use as a benchmark? You're right, Serbs are so silly. Also, where is this police state you write of? Do you mean the foreign military occupation of the Serbian province of Kosovo. Feel free to support your allegation of current Serbian governmental totalitarianism.

Let the people make their own decisions!!!
I am so glad Kosova/o is parting with Serbia as is.
What democracy?

B92, you should not censor things you dont like.
I compliment you when you do the right thing, but I will critisize when you dont do the right thing.
In the case of the latter, I might shoot an e-mail to Veran.

I am not blaiming others, read my posts a little bit more properly, please!

if it were a sign of a crisis ... then you the Albanians would be suffering from the mother of all crisis´ Armageddon if you want... =)

who is prestenting himself ( themselves actually ) as the victim here? who is winding in self-pity?

it the Albanians of course!

I think that most posting on this thread have forgotten that Serbia is democratic and that when Albanians want to take part in Serbia's government they will be welcome. But, it appears Albanians prefer to cut off their nose to spite their face. The facts are that Kosovo has no legal right to its independence. Is that understood yet. NO LEGAL RIGHT. The majority of people in Serbia want Kosovo to stay an integral part of Serbia. The majority of Serbia has voted if favor, so that is the will of the people.

Correct step might be for Serbia to have an IC mission to make sure Serbia doesn't start any other conflict soon.

Say UNMIS (UN Mission in Serbia)?

come on Fatos, ( or KS,EA,CF,LK,RM or whatever you use to call yourself... )

let´s see thing like they really are.

it´s not about Belgrade infantilizing the Serbs in Kosovo...

it´s about showing protest against an illegal construction, that you call independent republic! ( I call it a desperate dream of yours, but that´s not my point here )

so, do not pretend as if you are concerned about democracy in Serbia, since ...you are the greates threat to democracy at the present time!

if there were no albanians like you, a minority within the albanian community anyway, there would be no problems and certainly there would not be any radicals in the serbian parliament.

as I said it...let´s see things like they really are.

and not like you want them to be seen.

Fatos

If Serbia was so democratic and cared so much for Serbs of Kosovo, wouldn't they allow them to make their own decisions? I mean, command systems, whereby others decide what's best for you, have failed throughout history. I am sure Serbs of Kosovo know better than anyone else what's best for them. This interference just goes to show how FALSE are Belgrade's claims that they care about peace and stability and want to protect Serbs in Kosovo. I sympathize with Serbs of Kosovo, for being a victim of such unjust pressure by their selfish brothers in Serbia.

Yes KS, with UNMIK as a model for democracy, what would you expect...
Perhaps Serbia needs to learn from the Albanian culture what it means to be democtratic??

Truly, a correct step forward.

EA

The Kosovar Serbs should not blame the Albanians for their problems. Some reserved seats could be left for the Serbian minority if they decide to be part of Kosova institutions. After the Kosova#s independence there will be no parallel institutions in Kosova and Kosova borders will be controlled.
