wow! It must be that Serbs couldn't limit themselves on just getting rid of other ethnic groups so they decided to also cleanse themselves!

Ida, let me guess, Mercep levelled Vukovar right? The actions of one paramilitary (you know, the same kind of Serb paramilitaries that were roaming Croatia and killing civilians)justify the destruction of a city? Interestingly enough, a city that the aggresor claimed as their own? I suggest some courses in logic....
As for the refugees, well had certain actions not been taken by say the Serb dominated JNA, perhaps those refugees would have been at home safe right now.
Here is the deal though. Ida et al. are now going to call me an Ustase/Balije/Anti-Serb, and say I am not sensitive enough about Serbian suffering. So my deal is: I see you helping Croats in Vojvodina get their homes back, I will do the exact same for Serbs in Croatia. Deal?

Seems many people here are ignorant of the fact that the Croats starting the killing in Vukovar with a man called TOMISLAV MERCEP, who, with Croat police and paramilitaries started arresting, torturing and killing Vukovar Serbs in early May 1991.

Also the Croat defense minister Gojko Subotic, fired missiles onto Serbian homes over the border before the war began.

The Croats wanted and excuse to attack and kill Serbs.

As for the RS, that also has hundreds of thousands of displaced Serbs from the Muslim-Croat Federation and Croatia. That was a land SWAP.

The Muslims and Croats got Serb homes in the Federation and it's best the people should live apart.

Because the Muslims were cutting off Serbs heads in the RS why would Serbs want to live with terrorists like that?

Let the Muslims have their own part - which they do - and create it to suit them.

They should leave the Serbs alone.

Muslims don't mix well with Christians, Serbs, Buddhists, etc. the world over.

The problem comes when they gain critical mass and want to take over a country and bring dhimmnitude to the non-Muslims.

“Republik od Srpska, ethnically cleansed of all non-Serbs”

Actually you have it backwards Victor, RS is 12% Bosniak and Croat populated, while the Federation is only 2% non-Bosniak/Croatian.

Regardless, its pretty shameful to blame innocent civilian refugees for the crimes that happened there. Some of you seem to be supporting the ethnic cleansing of Serbs as legitimate and understandable.

«That these people can't go and live in their old homes on their properties show that after the war obstacles and threats are the norm in Croatia, Muslim-Croat "Federation" of Bosnia and Kosovo.»

Ida, you talk about Bosnia, Croatia but you don't mention the little Republik od Srpska, ethnically cleansed of all non-Serbs, and the paradise of all the war criminals who have abused and killed 1000s of non-Serbs civilians during the war in the Balkans. I would like you to explain.

As for the refusal of Croats to live with Serbs, it is completely understandable under the circumstances. It will take decades before bridges of respect and tolerance are restaured. Not esay for the Croats to forget the destruction of Vukovar and the killing of 300 patients.

Let time do its work.

Serbia is the one who caused all the mess in the Balkans. Serbia started the wars, Serbia also lost the wars and as a result Serbia should deal with the problem of these refugees.
I personally am very sad about these people but the sad thing is that they fell victims of Milosevic's propaganda and back then some of these people expelled others from their homes and in the end these people had to flee themselves afraid of revenge for what they did to their own neighbors in Croatia Bosnia or Kosova.
IDA, you can blame others as much as you want to, but you really have to think that you can not go on with denial all the time, one day you and your alikes have to stop and think about living in the world of reality.
You see, the more you live in the world of denial and mythology the more you are loosing from the world of reality.
Thanks.

Well said Chris and Guida. Pity serb government just points to the fact but not its governments role in creating the mess.

In any case ida, I dont know about BiH but in Croatia, evacuation was signed and ordered 3 days before Operation Storm (if thats what ur referring to). This is a fact whose proof exists and if you wish to call it "ethnic cleansing", do so, but it will always have the word "unforced" in front of it. Much more different to "forced" ethnic cleansing and rest of the world knows this.

Chris and guida justifying refugees in Serbia?

How pathetic you people are. Shame on you for lack of history/current events/morality.

Too bad for you Serbs are smarter and can achieve what ever they want. See we work on a different level rather then wishing others or more specifically our neighbors harm and rough times we focus on making ours better.

So heres to our goal of helping our Serbs from abroad reach their homes despite racists and fascist remarks as demonstrated by Chris and guida the two prime example of Balkan destabilizers.

Had international law been followed, none of this would have happened, and we'd still have Yugoslavia. Furthermore, the Serbs were not the bad ones in the conflict. That is what the western media says - and why believe them? Why not look into the facts of continual lack of coverage of Serbian victims and other such things? The one who gets bombed is the one who does not play by the rules, and the rules were to become the equivalent of a banana colony. We did not want that, and so hence, we were labeled bad. So it is not us creating the mess. We're the victims of aggression.

Everyone has to step back & stop pointing the finger at Serbia & stop & think what role THEY had to create this mess - it takes two to tango.

What's the problem with everyone? There are so many daggers coming at Serbia, it's almost identical to the "mistake" that NATO made!

There are persons who have immigrated to Serbia who have made a positive mark on society. It's very unfortunate that the radicals are the only ones that post on this website - WHICH reflects a majority of the population of Serbian Kosovo!

The displacement of people (all ethnic groups) was the direct result of Serb aggression beginning in Vukovar against the Croats, then the rest of Croatia and BiH. Now Serbia must live with the repercussions of dealing with the Serb refugees from Croatia and BiH, and swallow the bitter pill of international isolation...

ida

This is a sign of the more permanent ethnic cleansing by Croats and Balkan Muslims. That these people can't go and live in their old homes on their properties show that after the war obstacles and threats are the norm in Croatia, Muslim-Croat "Federation" of Bosnia and Kosovo.
