The Kosovo Albanians indicted by the Hague for war crimes handed themselves over to the court, starting with Haradinaj. In the mean time Mladic is hiding god knows where, like a rat.

Unless you know something I don't about more indictees, you should probably stop making blanket statements such as "...fronted by indicted war criminals."

Whether or not Mladic gets arrested depends not on whether the government think he is some kind of "hero to Serbs", but on whether they are prepared to accept the possibility of a bullet in the head.

The government lack the bravery to do what is necessary. Mladic is not a hero - he has done major harm to Serbia's good name. It may be hard for some Serbs to face the necessity for re-education on the issue, but the 'hero' status does not extend much beyond his own back yard.

Peter: "Except that Kosovo cannot become a member of EU."

I know that. I was really making the point that "people in glass houses..."

It makes it even more laughable that Kosovo independence seekers believe that they WOULD be accepted into the EU.

Serbia belongs in the EU, and Kosovo can enjoy the benefits by being part of Serbia. I see prospective independence as only being dangerous and untenable.

Ms Del Ponte is very naive and still believes in the Gov. officials who have been lying to her for years. This does not surprise me. They are the same who were is Milosevic entourage for years! They are there for themselves, for power, for money! I understanbd why 20% of the population of Serbia live below the poverty line.

Andrea Baucero: "...the EU will accept as a member a country that hides and protects war criminals."

You seem to be forgetting that the Kosovan government is fronted quite openly by indicted war criminals.

This Lady is incredible:

Honestly she can't burst every two days about Mladic!

Secondly: it's totally unacceptable to read comments such as: "the EU will accept as a member a country that hides and protects war criminals. What a shame it is being a citizen of the EU!" from Andrea, when Germany has been hiding nazi's for 50 years, italian terrorists have been living without hiding in Spain and France.

People, please give us a big break!

Even though they are searching or at least they claim so, I don't think they will find him because they do not want to find.

I think that Carla Del Ponte is getting old and tired, it looks like in the last few months she's definitely softening her stance towards the Serbs, who are giving no reason to believe they're getting ready to arrest Mladic. The outcome will be: Serbia will not arrest Mladic, Carla del Ponte will give thumbs up, the EU will accept as a member a country that hides and protects war criminals. What a shame it is being a citizen of the EU!
