Smile" it could be a serb, but there's just one problem: we don't attack our own.
Are you aware of the recent lost wars?Do you know how they lost wars? Before you make such a funny statement read a bit.

Peggy

The VOA doesn't give details as to the date or location. It also doesn't say whether the incident was reported to the police and what action is taken.

We really don't have anything to go on except the the attacker was tall and spoke good Serbian. Wow, anyone from the former Yugoslavia is able to speak good Serbian.
That doesn't mean that the attacket wasn't Serbian but since we don't have ANY important information why is this reported at all until we get this informtion?
She is either going to make a statement to the police and we have something to go on or she will retract her accusation.

Let's wait and see what happens before we ameteur detectives say anything for certain.

Don't you guys feel some of these comments are nothing but stupid ethnic banter? I personally don't see why these sort of things pass through the moderators here.

nikshala, i was thinking less in terms of political assasination and more in terms of ordinary folks. you know, no serbs kidnapping of presumed serb traitors, no executions of villagers and burials in shallow graves. but even more importantly, if our forces attacked and killed our villagers or reporters it would be an abomination. is it so in kosovo with albanians? yes djindjic rings a bell becuase those that killed him disqualified themselves as serbs the moment they pulled the trigger. no, real serbs don't hurt their own no matter what. those guys were common criminals, i think they did or easily could have cooperated even with their albanian colleagues dealing heroing and arms smuggling to hurt our country.
and today you don't see their faces in billboards running for office either.
personally i dont care if such faces run in kosovo but i think reasonable albanians should and do care, only they wont adimit it to us here :)

I read this article yesterday and it did not specify whether the attacker was Serb or Albanian, and to be honest, there's ample proof it could be both:

It could be a Serb because Bojičić works for VOA, an organization derided by nationalists in the same way B92 is often accused of being a front for the Soros-funded New World Order blah blah. "Objective" reporting in many areas of the Balkans has often led said reporter to be targeted by their own people because they're seen as "traitors" who do not speak the official line.

It could also be Albanian on the simple assumption Bojičić is Serbian, and there are a good number of places in Kosovo today where entering as a Serb puts one's health and life at risk.

By "speaking good Serbian" that also is fuzzy. Many older Albanians were taught Serbian as the "official" language of region. So I can't make any definitive judgement as to who it was based on the information given. Nevertheless, I share the conviction of others that the perpetrator, like all unapprehended perpetrators of crimes in Kosovo need to be caught sooner rather than later.

The report said mentioned no name nor a nationality but by being in Gracanica than I presume that a Serb has done it because her reports mught have upset the Serbian terrorists in Kosova. This is the second attack on the freedom of speech of Serbians. B92 had was reminded of Milosevic era yesterday form the current gov. officials
This says a lot about the freedom of speech in ex-SFRJ republic of Serbia.

I am sorry to say but it seems that Jovan has no clue where caglavica or Gracanica is and who lives there. I can tell you Jovan; There are no Albanians there, only Serbs. Also, she was beaten becasue of her reporting the fact on thye ground to VOA, which in return are transmitted through TV sceen and Radio. Apparantely someone did not like what she reported.
This is crule, to beat on jurnalist. Only tyrons will do such thing. I hope the prepetrator is cought and face justice.

Afrim Hoxha

It is important to mention that this journalist often got threats from North Mitrovica Serbs for her unbiased information.
This journalist is known to be neutral and a lot of times she uncovered some dirty games of serbian propaganda.
This time serbs can say and accuse anything they want here, but the person who beat and threatened her was a SERB.
Its sad that serbs still think that with threats they can stop the voice of truth being heard.
Thanks.

"but the VOA does not give any details as to the date or location"

Without these details - and strange that a reporter leaves out the who, when, where, etc. - no one really knows what happened or IF it happened.

There's no report of hospitalization, photos of injuries, etc.

Just a few days ago a liberal radio host of Air America had reported she was beaten and mugged while walking her dog, but then the story changed to her having fallen, and finally that nothing happened to her. So it appears it was a story to gain sympathy, attention or for an agenda. People were initially claiming that a conservative mugged her.

Just like that story, this story without proof or key information - when and where or any injuries - is suspect.

Afrim Hoxha

pre 16 godina

IDA, when the suspect seems to be a serbian you start asking for pictures, details and details and details and details like in this time, but when the suspect seems to be Albanian then you do not hesitate at all to start accusing albanians for all the bad things that happen in this world.
This shows how "unbiased" you are.

teni

I have said it before and I am repeating it now: when it comes to Kosova there is little room for reasoning on part of many of the posters here. Whenever a Serb house gets burned - even by lightning - and when there are no clues whatsoever on the identity of the perpetrator some here immediately see an Albanian behind it. Strangely when a Serb journalist bets beaten by a Serb speaking man who accuses her of an pro-Albanian bias it is still an Albanian who did it. Well I guess the Serbs never do anything bad.

Igor

I can see EA and other coming here and saying that we should not jump to conclusions, or that those hooligans were actually Serbs from the secret police pretending to be Albanians etc.

nikshala

Jovan, its funny this coming from a serb, considering just few weeks ago a journalist was assasinated in Serbia - thats one more thing that Serbia has in common with Russia.

This is tedious.

The report is a bit unclear as well, since it does not say where the incident happened but it starts with - BELGRADE!

nikshala

The report changes since the last time I read it.

I guess it turns out that it could have been a serb after all.

Either way - the guy should get caught and jailed.

Bojičić also said that the attacker addressed her "in most offensive terms," accusing her of "bias in favor of Albanians..."

Jovan and moe

I think we all know what nationality this criminal who assaulted her has.

since the ethnicity is not mentioned, and judging by the standard apparel, it is an Albanian. So VOA will refuse to put the blame where it belongs, even when their own journalist is the victim. How much further can it go?
