Kate,
You certainly have ruffled a few feathers here. All the Albanians are on the attack.
Why? Because they know that you made perfect sense and cannot contradict your statement with a strong argument.
You know what they say. The greatest defense if offense.

I agree. It's like getting mugged. Don't fight while I steal your property or you will get hurt.

That's a threat used by muggers only. What the Albanians don't realize is that Serbia is not afraid and will fight back.

it was certainly extremely smart by the albanian "negotiators" to make a statement after the talks in Brussels that there will never be a compromise between Belgrade and the provinces Albanians!

it´s becoming clearer and clearer for the international community, who the real disturbing factor in regard to a peaceful solution is!

good for Serbia.

Kate, is this another kind of your hypocrisy! Why don’t you bring in Northern Ireland instead? Do you really believe that NI would still be part of the UK if 90% of her populations were Irish Catholics? Your hypothesis doesn’t hold waters.

Kosovo must become independent.

Kate,

Kosova is de-facto Independent and will formally be so in a matter of weeks. Afterwards, we will be good neighbors like all the civilized nations on this Earth. Hopefully, our children will worry more about climate change, and life on Mars than this mess we find ourselves involved in at this moment.

According to the 2001 census only 8% of the whole Scotland population was born in England the major bulk of them being born in South East England. Bearing in mind that inwards and outwards migration of the Scots nets a total loss of only 2000 inhabitants per annum, the question that arises here is: where is this distinct Scottish stronghold in North England? I live in North England and I have surely not seen it. This together with the example of different nationalities living in a London road, is again a ridiculous comparisons presented by the Serb camp.
A just comparison would have been that of Kosova with Scotland. by only comparing the percentages of rations between K-Albanians and Serbs and that of Scottish and English populations, (roughly 1/6 and 1/10 respectively), Kosovars have clearly a stronger claim to sovereignty than the Scots.
Anyone who has a fair limited understanding of UK constitutional law will know that Scotland has chosen to stay part of the Union. They are constituent part of United Kingdom and therefore have their own parliament and wide range of sovereignty attributes.
If Scottish parliament votes for a plebiscite on the referendum and referendum on independence is then successful then of course you’ll have an independent Scotland. The crucial point is that the Scots like any other civilised nation in the world have a real choice on their constitutional future. KOSOVARS ask for nothing more.

Police in Chesterfield Township say an Albanian man suspected of sexually assaulting an 83-year-old woman and spying on other women was ordered to be deported in 2004 and should never have been in the U.S.
From police...

On August 26, 2007, the Chesterfield Township Police Department responded to an apartment in The Willows complex, located at 49330 Carlos Road, when an 83 year old female resident reported being sexually assaulted and held captive by an intruder during the night. The woman was asleep when the suspect, a white male about 25-30 years old with a foreign accent, removed the screen from her partially open bedroom window and surprised her.

When attacker left he threatened to come back for her if she notified anyone. She courageously called the police and assisted in the investigation. A Michigan State Police forensic artist prepared a sketch of the suspect that was circulated locally and in the media. In response to that information another woman came forward with information that lead to the identification and arrest of Altin (nmn) Shabi, W/M/28, who was residing in the same apartment complex.

Mr. Shabi was subsequently found to be an Albanian natural, here in the United States illegally since 2004 and who had applied for political asylum. His appeal was denied and he was ordered to be deported but failed to comply.

Mr. Shabi has been charged by the Macomb County Prosecutor with (1) Home Invasion 1st (2) Kidnapping and Criminal Sexual Conduct 2nd. His bond is $500,000 cash or surety. Mr. Shabi will be arraigned today in the 42-2 District Court, located at the rear of the Macomb County Jail. The exact time of the arraignment is unknown because he (Shabi) is already a prisoner at the jail, so the arraignment could take place at any time.

It is now known that Mr. Shabi has been a serial Peeping Tom in the vicinity of The Willows Apartments since November of 2006 when he moved there from Shelby Township in the area of West Utica Road and Ryan. If anyone recognizes him from the attached photograph as a suspect in some similar incident they should contact the jurisdiction in which the crime occurred.

Chesterfield Township Chief of Police Bruce Smith is grateful to the media for its concern and assistance in getting the suspect sketch into the public eye and to the many citizens that called in tips. This is a great example of the media, community and police working together to keep us all safer.

"You're right. Its own people already own the territory, as Serbian residents within Serbia."

very well said,Kate! there´s nothing I could add here,except...

that´s also the reason, why it is illegal to take away a significant part of the territory without the consent of the majority of the population.

there is simply no sound reason which the Albanians could name.
it´s about taking away serbian territory.

but since they cannot justify it properly, they are forced to reiterate their myths about the illyrians, or to try to fish for sympathy by presenting themselves as victims - with the only fault that they are the ones who are threatening and burning down even holy churches and monasteries...

Only that we're not dealing with residents and non-residents, but with completely different ethnic groups that don't even share a language, and that have been the direct target of a mass atrocity scandal that brought NATO in the mix.

You cannot ommit that piece of information when you talk about territories and residents, because it makes all the difference in the world.

You're right. Its own people already own the territory, as Serbian residents within Serbia.

Serbia is a separate nation to Albania. That would be like the Scots populating the north of England and then asking for it to become an independent Scottish state. Of course this sort of scenario would not be allowed within any country.

Kate,
We are not asking Serbia to hand over 15% of territory as you are claiming – K-Albanians are exercising their right to be free same like other nations in Balkans – Serbia achieved its freedom from the Ottomans, so are you suggesting that Turks should have said same as you are saying: risk of ‘frustrating’ Serbs is not a good enough reason for any country, in this case Turkey to hand over % of its territory. If Serbs had a right to be free from Turks surely K-Albanians have a right to be free from Serbs. I am glad Serbia managed to be free from Turks and you should be glad too for Kosova being freed from Serbia. This should be the end of Kosova’s tragic story and build up the foundations for future generations so they can live in Peace and prosperity so they can perceive each other as good neighbors rather then enemies.

It is not a matter of blackmail but it is a matter of fact. If Kosova independence doesn't happen after the 10th of December and by that I don't mean days or weeks after, you and your friends will blame the international community because their are in charge of Kosova. When it comes for them to decide to stop any conflict happening, you say 15% of Serbias territory. Kate. Let's face the truth. You are more interested on territories rather its people living in these territories. Kosova's territory has been lost because Serbia's CHAUVINSTIC views.

EA: I don't think that the risk of 'frustrating' the Kosovo Albanians is a good enough reason for any country to hand over 15% of its territory. Threats of 'creating another conflict' with disgruntled residents is just an attempt at blackmail.

This will be sorted through legal international processes. Threats will not work.

EA

Why Russia is worried about the 10th of December. They can talks a long as they want but I am certain that both parties have run out of arguments when it comes to the SOVEREIGNITY of Kosova. It is just a waste of time aiming to frustrate the Kosovar Albanian to the limit, creating another conflict and "justifying" the division of Kosova. Kosova got to be indpendent, functional and freed from Serbian once and for all.
