Rupel: Same EU rules for Serbia, Croatia

EA, it is obvious from your spelling of Kosovo that you have a bias against Serbia. You need to realize that Croatia gained candidate status before General Gotovina was caught but Serbia has not even signed an SAA. The atrocities commited by Gotovine were in Croatia, while Mladic never operated in Serbia, but another country.

EA I think you missed the point. It was addressing really that EUROPE should have unity on Kosovo instead of US deciding and also that CROATIA should not have shortcuts and should adhere to everything Serbia has been forced to do!

Absolutely right. There should be no shortcuts to Serbia to join European Union especially now the Kosova status negotiations are going on. Whatever the decision, the standards of joining EU should be the same for every country wishing to adhere to.

Nicholas, croatia didnt get candidancy status until gotovina was requested. Might be useful for u to check on facts before u consider if serbia is treated unfairly.

Also while technically Mladic was in another country, it is a fact that Serbian military operated in Bosnia and Croatia. And the fact taht Milosevic's signature was necessary on all peace accords proves that Serbia was tied to everything that was going on in Bosnia and Croatia. Therefore Serbia is responsible for all that went on.

Even though i dont like to get into nationalistic squabble and consider myself still a YUGOSLAV. I have to agree with what nicholas is saying. This is very true. Even though all indictees should be arrested and tried.

Rupel should set an example for Serbia. Slovenia should resolve it's border dispute with Croatia by giving that land and sea access to them. It's the EU way, apparently.

Croatia was never hiding Gotovina, the guy was on the run for all of those years only to be found via Croatian intelligence that he was in the Canary Islands.

Unlike Mladic who openly was wondering about in Belgrade and it is a known fact that the Serbian military and politicians are hiding him in Serbia.
