Personally, I think that a double genocide was accomplisged then. Did you know that more than 1,5 million Turks lost their life during the same period?

Check on the Net and you'll see! This is the reason why the Turks don't want to recognize the genocide.

Surprise, surprise the US has finally done something honest and smart? This is a rare moment in time that I can praise a decision made of the US.

I could care less what Turkey thinks. This country has gotten away with genocide for decades without so much as a formal apology. What makes Turkish denial of the Armenian Genocide, and other mass killings of Greeks, Assyrians, and Kurds especially reprehensible is its government proactively going out of its way to stifle any consideration of it. Other countries that have committed mass killings usually ignore it, not wanting to run the risk of bad publicity. Turkey however actually goes after academics, journalists, MPs, and ordinary people who are seeking the truth. They hold "academic" conferences actually trying to disprove the Genocide. They blame all social and political turmoil in their country on a so-called Greek-Armenian-Kurdish international conspiracy. Even the extreme Left Wing Turkish Workers Party, a movement one might think may be acceptible to an alternative historical narrative than the quasi-fascist rhetoric of Kemalism, is equally calling the Genocide "an imperialistic lie", while holding up pictures of their secular god, Mustafa Kemal. This just shows that a lie repeated and embedded in the collective memory of a people and repeated over and over again at some point becomes undeniable truth. The United States has no need for allies like Turkey, and if genocide denial is one of the perks of being an ally of Washington, we need to seriously rethink our alliance strategies.

We would not have this Kosovo or Bosnia problem if it was not for the Turkish genocidal aggressor. The next step is to give land back to Armenia and to help the Kurds break off. Maybe even bring back byzantium and give some greek lands BACK to the greeks.

US desperately need a province or a territory of a suitable sovereign country to make it independent. Having failed in Kosovo they're slowly moving onto their next target, Armenia.

re Turkey condems Armenia vote:
There is no loss to Turkey to admit the massacre so why do they make such a fuss over it.

Turkey gained East part of its country from massacre of the Armenians including the Ararat region which is symbol of Armenia. Today Turkey occupies North Cyprus .

Further to this, I would say that the Ottoman Turkish system of 'devsirme', the abduction of young boys from their families in Christian lands held by the Turks as a form a 'blood tax', was also genocide. What else can you call something that systematically decimated a native population?
