The EU is to remind Montenegro next week its monetary system is not in line with the EU requirements.

Srboslav, this is more Germany's fault then the EU's. First in 1999 after the bombing the Montenegrins introduced the German mark and then the Eu allowed it (Germany even financed its introduction). when the mark was rpelaced with the euro, montenegro switched. so this is the EU's fault, but more specifically that of Germany.

why is montenegro allowed to proceed towards the EU when they have not arrested Karadzic and he is suspected to hide out there on occasion.

Now EU will have to pay the price for giving Montenegro the right to use the EURO as official currency...
The Eu is to blame on this one, not Montenegro.
I understand that the EU allowed Montenegro to use the euro only to help split Serbia and Montenegro and they succeded. But now they have to deal with the consequenses of letting a non member who is not even close to meeting the economic requirements and standards adopting the currency.

Montenegro should never have taken it upon itself to use/adopt the Euro as it's recognized form of currency. It was only a matter of time before this would happen.
It's one thing to use the Euro in conjunction with your "own" currency, but to fully adopt it is equal to piracy.

So Montenegro will have to "create" a Montegerin "Euro" or "Dinar" before they can join the EU if there is not suddenly any other reason for delays and then if when they join go through the process of being accepted to use the "Euro" - that is hilarious!
Well done Montenegro going your own way to the EU really is paying off !!! The montegregrin leadership really was Duped-kanovic by the EU!
