The International community can wait 1-1000 years. Kosovo (land) will never be compramised for politacl acceptance nor it should. Kosovo is Serbia and I am baffled as to where, how and why is this so difficult for the I.C. to understand.

EA, teni, jorge garcia, Mike,
all of you who support the Albanian cause please can you please show me where in the Albanian language is there Kosova, Kosove? I am waiting I have all day. And if you were gonna get independence you would have done it 1999, in June of that year. But you didnt. Serbia won that war also, cause in the end Kosovo under resolution 1244, read the document states that Kosovo not Kosova is a part of Serbia. So far that is Albanians lost WWI, the Balkan wars, WWII, and in 1999. Again please show me where in the Albanian language is there Kosova???? waiting...

Noli,

So different rules apply in Europe vs. the rest of the world?

Kosovo has more rights then Tibet because it is locaten in Europe?

That's pretty rascist!

Russia's main problem is not Serbia or Kosova, but its fast dying population due to alcohool consumption and the loss of 'family entity'. Their gas will be used to fuel up Germany and the rest of Europe, the same that their resources have cheaply kept alive economies of Europe during the times of Russian Tzars. The only period when Russian goods got some sort of "value" was during the Comunism, and that time has far gone. In the times of "democracy", Russians have proven to be "sold" cheaply to the West. That's why our lovely friend Shroeder is there in the first place ;-)

I have noticed that some people in here mix politics with business. At this moment, there are no politics being played about Kosova because the end result is well known: Indipendent Kosova. Business is always the same, it's just trading without hard feelings. That's why Kosova will never be separated because "THEY" are not "talking" about borders, but numbers in $ or Euro.

Ron,

Believe me, us Serbs appreciate what you are doing and we are doing what we can to spread the truth about this illegal and immoral land grab that some countries are tryint to pull. If the world knew the truth, they would have bombed albanians, not Serbians, in the first place.
http://www.balkanpeace.org/index.php?index=article&articleid=7427
The truth is something that Serbs are not afraid of, but albanians are. It is working, because most of the world is actually backing the Serbian position on the Kosovo issue.
Keep up the good work Ron!

darkwood dub,

You are correct, nowhere does it say that 'Kosova' is part of Serbia. 'Kosova' are Gusii people people who inhabit western Kenya.

As for Kosovo, that is the ancient Serbian heartland, the cradle of Serbian civilization, and it will remain that way thanks to the Russian and Chinese veto, no matter what you say :).
Cheers!

Clean Cut,

You forgot about 1244? The deal was autonomy. Russia is right in this case: Kosovo should not be independent!

And the English word is KosovO, not KosovA!

Peter Sudyka

pre 16 godina

Clean Cut, go and do some research on the EU's energy needs (gas, in particular) in 20 years time. Russia is the 9th biggest economy in the world, is growing solidly and does not rely solely on Gazprom and Lukoil. Your mockery of a huge economy like Russia (coming from an Albanian in Kosovo) is just laughable.

I can even picture a bunch of Albanians sitting outside their cafe in some backward little town in Kosovo mocking Russia at how "insignificant" it is in the world.

Laugh at Liberia or Rwanda if you like, but not at Russia.

darkwood dub

pre 16 godina

Ron,

Please tell me where in the international law (or anywhere, just dont give me the serbian constitution) it says that Kosova is part of Serbia. I cant find it anywhere.

"Are 2 million Albaneze worth more then 40 million Kurds?"

Who are these Albaneze? I want to look them up in a map to help them out. Albaneze anyone?

Clean Cut

pre 16 godina

The truth about Russia is that right now it is experiencing some kind of a "power high" that came as result of momentary high energy demands around the world. This "high" will not last for long though, as the West, after seeing that they were let down by Russians in a non-honest way of doing business, are regrouping their forces and are working towards reshaping the ways of energy resources and industry, based on new technologies. The end result will be very bitter for Russians and those who follow them. In meantime, the West is treating Russia just as a team of doctors would treat a drugged up patient who is holding a knife in his hand.

Kosova is already independent. What's left is just the sign off.

Ron

pre 16 godina

EA,

(1) I agree with your solutioin. AS LONG AS KOSOVO STAYS PART OF SERBIA. 99% autonomy is no problem! Can you live with that? Problem solved?

(2) I am sure Tibet wants to offer China a friendship pact. So why is there no independent Tibet now? Very strange...
You seem to forget international law everytime.

Ron

pre 16 godina

EA,

I suggest you do a reality check. Kosovo is part of Serbia.

So many minorities live in so many states. Fun? Maybe not. But why make an exception for Kosovo?

UN, EU, US, Russia, France... everybody talks about Kosovo. Let's talk about Tibet, Palestine, hunger in Africa.

Are 2 million Albaneze worth more then 40 million Kurds?

Come on. You are part of Serbia. Accept it. Get a life and join Europe!

I wouldn't worry too much Kate. The whole "Princip, Kate..." thing is just a shorthand by many on this site to mean "everyone that doesn't agree with us." About 75% of the "Princip, Kate" users are consistently incapable of engaging in any cognitive arguments themselves.

EA

pre 16 godina

Teni,
Give them (Kate,Princip and others) more time to understand the reality. They have been brainwashed by the Serbian government and Church that Kosova has been their all their history and myths. Give them time please)

Jorge Garcia

pre 16 godina

Teni, I agree with you. The sad part is that denial on the Serbian side will only result in Serbia losing again more land than it should. Everyone would benefit if the parties reached a deal even (perhaps especially) if it included both partition and minority rights and priveleges.

(As far as language--in all these years, why didn't anyone come up with a single name for all the regional forms of the stokavian dialect?)

kate

EA: "Only Princip, Kate and their friend Kostunica don't realize that yet."

Joe: "Time will come when even Kate, Princip and Kostunica will realize it."

You see what happens when you take over the threads? You get bored and then have to try and bait the regulars so you can have a bit of an argument.

Why don't you ever argue amongst yourselves? There must be sommething you disagree on!?

Okay, I'll play rabbit... it's not about Russia's genuine love of Serbia or vice versa. It's about Russia's attempt to preserve boundaries and international laws - which is to the benefit of all of us in Europe and beyond. I have made this statement many times before but at least it'll give you something to have a pop at.

teni

pre 16 godina

Kate: There might be things we don't agree on, but we are discussing Kosova here and when it comes to Kosova we are certainly in agreement that you, Princip and Kostunica & company are in denial. There's no baiting involved.

Russians made their point already by refusing the Ahtisaari plan and they are now back in World political scene with “influence”.
Moscow is going to be under a heavy pressure to decide lately since they are holding back the fate of entire Balkans. I hope that Russian decides and returns it problems and they are huge problems.

teni

EA Ischiner has to earn his money somehow. Plus as you know Russia is an extremely touchy country at the moment so they have to pretend they care about them just not to hurt their feelings. But I guess he knows full well what the end result is gonna be. Only Princip, Kate and their friend Kostunica don't realize that yet.

David

pre 16 godina

EA, I agree 100% with your solution. If everyone respected minority rights we would not have come to this.
5% Kosovo Serbs are already granted a broad amount of cultural rights. Serbia (willingly) grant those same rights (no more or less)to Minorities eg. Hungarians in Vojvodina, Albanians in the Presevo. Albania with their Greeks minority.
Montenegro, a newly independent nation with their diversified ethnic groups should grant those same broad rights to Albanians there.
Very interesting that Montenegro can not even come up with a name for a language is not called a multi-ethnic state, but Kosovo is, with a demographic makeup like no other in Europe.

EA

pre 16 godina

Ishinger,
The solution is ready. Ahtisari Plan plus Kosovar Albanians OPEN offer for the Friendship Pact with Serbia. In additions the same right as the Kosovar Serbs should be granted to the Albanian population in in Presevo, Bujanov and Medvegja. Problem sorted! That would save you the trip to Moscow.
