WELL DONE! This shows to me that our neighbours and friends from Vojvodina know how to defend their multiethnic and tolerant society!

I need some help to locate the post from Victor.
vrnjak has adderessed Victor and I was looking to read Victor's coments but was unable to find it.
Anyway what does this rally has to do anything with Albanians. As far as I am concerned that rally was held in Serbia proper and dealt with as well. Why mention Albanians at all?

thank you from san francisco to each in and every anti-fascist marcher/demonstrator who turned out in order to show moral spine and courage and their utter rejection of neo-nazism and ultra-nationalism. indeed they do have their wrk cut out for them inside serbia -- but that is not an entirely unique situation to any one time or place. but in present-day serbia, it is a real and clear need. thank you again and keep up the good work!

Despite a number of communications/broadcasts that this event should not happen as there would be serious reprocussions, I'm glad that the police acted as they did.

Too bad Croatia turned their back on their neo-Nazi issues. Doesn't say too much for them.

Ratko, I would be more than glad to help you combat facism in Croatia. But this article is not about Croatia is it? Is it not about Serbia? Where should the attention then follow?

SP,

The Albanians don't bother with fascist rallies, because the facists don't have any need to rally.

In case you haven't noticed, ethnic minorities are confined to ghettos in Kosovo.

Serbia might have a group of fascists who want to have a rally (every country has this -- even Israel).

The separatist movement in Kosovo is distinctly fascist. Fascism is an exaltation of race and ethnicity. In Kosovo, ethnic identity and ethnic self-determination are the primary ideology behind the demand for independence.

The rhetoric that the Kosovo-Albanians use to justify separation from Serbia is no different than the rhetoric the Germans used in Sudetenland in 1938.

For that matter, the Albanian rhetoric is no different from the rhetoric used by the Ku Klux Klan in the United States when they demand "self determination" for the "White race" without interference from Blacks and Jews.

When the fascists get together in Kosovo, they don't have a rally -- they lynch a Serb or they burn down a Serbian church. Their tactics and their ideology are no different from the KKK in the United States. Except when the Albanians burn a cross it's still attached to the church.

vrnjak,
sorry, albanians don't have fascist rallies.
you are the ones that seem to have a problem with that

your anti-fascist rally is taking place because the fascist want to rally.

fascist rallies are no surprise
serbia went through a decade of fascism under milosevic and its citizens were heavily influenced.

will take time until serbian citizens' minds are cleaned up of hatred.

Hey vrnjak,

It's pretty audacious of you to try and use the fact that there are some Serbs who've got the guts to stand up against chauvinism in their country - of which open neo-Nazis like Nacionalni Stroj merely constitute the tip of the iceberg - to legitimate what reads as an apology of Serb nationalism. If you think Serbs have got a copyright on the antifascist struggle in the former Yugoslavia, then think again.
As for antifascist rallies in Croatia, after a neo-Nazi skinhead had stabbed some antifascist punks in Pula late in 2004, there was an antifascist protest march with approx. 1,000 participants, from teenagers to veterans of the Partisans, in that town.
I sincerely hope today's march in Novi Sad is similarly well-attended. God knows antifascists in Serbia have got a lot of work to do these days... Again, I wish them the best of luck.

Good luck to the organizers and to Anti-Fascist Action Novi Sad -- keep up the good work!
Obraz are the same scum as Nacionalni Stroj
