Proof yet again how Serbia's neighbours want to distance themselves from this "Pan-Serbianism" or "Greater Serbianism"

Makes sense that in Montenegro the language should be Montenegrin and not so-called "Serbian". There's no need to please the Serbs anymore.

The accord is definitely a sign of maturity, and it was about time! I was a bit troubled by the article suggesting that being Serbian and Montenegrin is mutually exclusive, since for many, it is not (often one of the labels simply predominates over the other). And although all these 'languages' are merely regional forms of the stokavian dialect, the difference in vocabulary between serbian and crnogorski is almost identical in the standard (and even common) language. Oh well. Congrats, anyway, and hurray for the compromise! Montenegro has so many other things to focus on, and so many non-symbolic things to be proud of.

How immature actually, no one in the Balkans or the world will take Montenegro seriesly for this.

only 22% of people in montenegro claim to speak "montenergin" whatever that is. So the government is going behind its own people...how surprising.

I agree Srboslav. If Montenegro wants to be a multiethnic state, all they need to do is reprint official documents and signs in Albanian. All other languages are 98% identical.

Its really stupid since all linguists know that the language spoken in Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Montenegro is actually Serbo-Croatian

Of one wants to call it Serbian or Croatian its more due to their nationalist views than actual facts
