Srboslav! You are absolutely right! Serbian war criminals SHOULD be tried in Serbia, and given maximum life sentances from Serbian courts, would this not prove that Serbia is a functioning democracy that is freedom loving, and has a stable legal system as so many Serbs claim?

V.,

Could you explain then how come Serbia did not put Mladic on trial? During all those years, Mladic was parading in Serbia, even attending soccer matches at the stadium, and the Gov., knew that he had been indicted for war crimes and genocide in Srebrenica.

Could you tell me how many paramilitaries or members of local militias were arrested and put on trial for their crimes during the war?

None, my friend! Such a behaviour, as you say, is an insult to the community of nations. Serbia is doing nothing to bring justice to those who were tortured, beaten, abused, and killed. Thank God that the ICTY is there to judge those who ordered the killings.

Anywhere else in the world, people who are alleged to have committed crimes, are put on trial in the country (or countries) in which these crimes were allegedly committed. Why do we allow foreigners to inflict upon us their ignorance and twisted interpretations of history, truth, and justice? The Hague is a farce and always has been. Allowing the Hague to pass judgement on matters we should be dealing with ourselves is an insult to all of us collectively, and an erosion of not only our sovereignty, but of all nations.

Why is Mesic concerned they will be given slap on the wrist and time already served. Its all a farce. There is no justice in the Hague for the innocent victims. That is why it is called criminal justice system and not victim justice system.

Yes, and Karadzic and Mladic should be tried in Republika Srpska or Serbia.. Preferably in Pale or Belgrade

Doesn't Mesic relise that he is making a fool of himself by saying this??
