marcus & roger:

it´s about albanians, just read the original reuters article.

in 1999 they went to whole europe and even turkey, that shouldn´t happen anymore obviously.

and the article says the us demanded from croatia not to make any trouble due to the pseudo-passports from unmik (only albanians have).

i think it´s mainly not to destroy the new state of montenegro. albania will take as less "brothers" as possible (like in 1999), macedonia won´t repeat the mistake of 1999 (with the "thank you" of this terrorists in 2004) and montenegro wants into nato, therfore they quite surly got the same order as croatia.

No, gentelmen!

Albanians have and will always have a safe heaven and it is called Albania. They don't have to go as far as Croatia. They are talking about Serbian refugees that will leave as soon as a conflict starts, if ever. It is time to accept Independent Kosovo and move on with our lives.

For once I agree with Nikshala! Maybe we two should sit down and solve the Kosovo crisis ;-)

But I think that the US wants the Croats to quard the border to serbia and stop all kind of refuees, both serbs and albanians. (Strange thing by the way is that albanians are always safe in Serbia, but serbs in kosovo is not)

Not that serbs or albanians would seek refugee in Croatia, but they would most likely go further and enter the EU, Austria and Germany is probably afraid of this scenario.

Wow. It appears that NATO is going to ethnically cleanse something in the Balkans again.

Just like the ethnic cleansing in Kosovo and over in Iraq, the U.S. is readying for another action. The question is where? Given the location, it is more likely to be Bosnian Serbs.

Their game may be to recognize Kosovo, thereby destabilizing Bosnia (which they hate anyway). This will bring a wider conflict ending with an NATO fed Jihad from Sarajevo against the Bosnian Serbs and NATO fed Jihad from Pristina against the remaining minority in Kosovo.

In the end, they will have their airbase in Kosovo (with cheap labor to support it), all of Kosovo, and Republika Serpska will be no more. They may even have a contingent come from Hungary to assist the occupation.

Once again, the Greeks will approve through abstention, just like the first time. Otherwise, they won't ask them.

It's pretty wild, but the U.S. and E.U. are embolden enough to try it. Might is right to them.

I guess the US is preparing for trouble because if nothing happens then they are preparing for what if's why speak about the Serbs to run away well i am sure if that happens things will go from bad to worst.

Yes the webs are getting longer. Just like the beginnings of WW1. No one has the intention of backing down or losing face ! No one nows the way of peace.

EA, or you could join Serbia's call to keep its integrity intact and then there will be no refugees. living together in a multicultural serbia.

Join Ahtisari Plan and give support the Kosovar Albanians offer for a Friendship Pact and there would be no refugees in the area. People can return their homes and live in peace and harmony in a independent multicultural Kosova.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave. What a disgusting piece of information if this is proven accurate.

Just yesterday, we read “Only independence can benefit Kosovo Serbs” and now we find that the US is making contingency plans for a possible exodus of even more Kosovo Serb refugees.

The US is purportedly asking Croatia to "protect NATO's borders" and “keep refugees out of NATO and European Union territory.”
Why is the US asking instead of NATO and EU officials? What will Croatia get in return from the US?

The Croatian government needs to first facilitate the return of Serbs refugees who lived in Croatia and were driven from their homes.

Does the US control both NATO and the EU?
What does the United Nations have to say about Mr. Fata’s request?

No one should be surprised that the US embassy has no comment. Once again, it speaks clearly of another failed US foreign policy.

1) Kosovo Serbs wouldn't want to go to Croatia, granted. As for Albanians, sure they would, why not? Seeing as how Croatia is clearly allied with NATO, and NATO is big on Kosovo independance, I mean it is kind of obvious.
2) Roger before you point the finger perhaps Serbia could facilitate the return of evicted Croats from Vojvodina ;) An eye for an eye then. I see you helping Croats get their properties back in Vojvodina, I will do likewise for Serbs in Croatia, deal?
3) As for Croatia dealing (flirting, casual fling, call it whatever) with NATO, well, that is called playing international card games properly.

Jovan

why sould Serb go to Croatia in case a new conflict breakes out?

it looks like the US are looking for safe havens for the Albanians who would flee from the KLA-inflicted chaos.

let´s see what future brings.

I hope that we won't see an influx of refugees on either side.

At the same time, this report sound weird, considering niether albanians nor serbs would take refuge in Croatia if there was trouble.
