Albanians have really got their heads in the sand.
Everything point to one fact. Independent Kosovo=Big problems everywhere else.
Isn't it easier to control 2 million K-Albanians than try to control all the separatists around the world?
I would think that K-Albanians are in no position to threaten anyone.
What's the worst think that can happen if the don't get their wish?
They start attacking NATO and the remaining Serbs in Kosovo?
How soon before they are defeated?
On the other hand what's the worst thing that can happen if kosovo becomes independent?
Pandora's Box is opened.
Everyone uses the same tactic that the Albanians have used. This time this becomes a real threat as there will be many more countries affected and millions more people involved.

This is the first time I,ve seen evidence that an American is actually considering some of the likely negative consequences of a unilateral declaration of independence. Congratulations that man.

First and last, there will be NO PARTITION of Kosovo/a.
Second, Kosovo/a Independence is a DONE DEAL.
Implications are going to be vast in the Balkans and out of Balkans, like Former Soviet.
Dont you guys think that US is willingly doing this so it can hurt Russia, since Russia is showing signs that wants to go back to the pre-perestroyka era, meaning dictatorship. This is a question that most of you never have thought out, but could be the reason that US is supporting Independence for Kosovo/a.
Also there are mines in Kosovo/a, from lignite coal to Uranium, and the last one is not in northern part where Serbs live.

I am jealous in regard to your vast fantasy...I mean, you are known to believe in those myths about being the descendants of the illyrians right? =)

as for the US...
I think you terribly underestimate things...

Serbia is located in the center of the Balkans..you don´t seem to realize what that means...

the Americans are already delivering their weaponry to Serbia and exchanging officers...and that´s only the current state of relations...that will improve naturally, once they let you go.

as I said it above, sit back and watch! after all, that´ll be all left for you.

to answer your question: no, I am not jealous at all. that´s something you can count on!

Would Albans please stop with this ridiculous peace offerring from Pristina? We saw your peaceful actions in 2004 so, no thanks. I, as a Serb, do not want anything to do with a people that has killed my people and destroyed my ancient churches.

The US and the Albanians would dearly love to take all of Kosovo but there is no chance they will be able to. The US is desperate to get it's hands on natural resources and so are the Albanians as they have NO other source of income.

PB

Partition Kosovo and if the rest of the Albanians in Serbia want to join Kosovo then Serbia should retain more land in Kosovo as compensation.

Cvele

Now EA you have to have leverage in order to make demands. What is it you have as leverage against us? Nothing! Absolutely nothing. So if Southern part of Kosovo becomes independent it will be because Serbs allowed it. Therefor, empty threats will get you nowhere and as for presevo medvedije and bujanovac you can just keep dreaming. There are how many peacekeepers there? Thought so. As for North Kosovo how do you plan to keep it? KLA? NATO? They will prosper while south economically starves.

We would rather economically suffer then lose Kosovo. Another poll was taken and it should start being a thorn in the EU side right about NOW.

Teni - Kosovo is such a welcoming place that it is attracting billions of dollars of investment - NOT. Kosovo is a basket case, always has been, always will be. Serbia on the other hand is attracting foreign investors. You've had 8 years to do something with yourselves and nothing has materialised ....... what's that i hear you say, "it's due to the unresolved legal status of Kosovo..". Well unfortunately, unless you negotiate your independence, you won't have a legal presence. Serbia will be waving at you from the sidelines when they join the EU and Kosovo don't, simply because it has no legal status.

Jovan

pre 16 godina

teni, ...once again you want to provoke...that´s all you are doing with your comments.

Kosovo won´t be independent, and Macedonia´s integrity will not be questioned either.

you will learn that, only a question of time.

Princip: You really excel at wishful thinking. What's crumbling is Serbia itself and not any US position. You lost Slavonia, Krajina, Montenegro, Kosova and if you don't pay attention you might still lose Sandzak and Vojvodina. And by the way how do you explain the fact that no one wants to be in the same country as you if you are such good, tolerant souls?
And the only way any of those scenarios on Macedonia will come true is if Kosova - very, very, very unlikely - doesn't get its independence.

You albanians talk like Kosovo is yours? It's always been Serbian. Every monument testifies to the historic presence of the Serbs on this land. Nothing in Kosovo points to an albanian past. Absolutely nothing. Thats why you feel the need to burn down 13th century churchs. You have to destroy everything that points to the truth. Get over it.

Theres no point in talking about Bujanovac, Presevo etc. It's you who is TRYING to break away from Serbia. The northern part would simply remain in its rightful, legal place....IN SERBIA!!

Marko

Guys not only the Balkan area will be affected by the independence of Kosovo, BTW it will never happen if you ask me..., anyway here in London three houses from mine down the road lives an albanian family: I'm 100% sure they'll announce independence from the UK, one minute after Kosovo's, and start their own albanian nation!

Partition of Kosova would be the worst solution only if would be compensated of with the territories of Presevo, Bujanovc and Medvegja. As I said that would be the very worst solution and very unrealistic. People who speculate on that option are desperate and giving 18th and 19th Century solutions. The way forward for both nations Albanian and Serbian is Ahtisari Plan with the Friendship Pact latest offer from Kosova.

Mike

pre 16 godina

So in other words, whatever actions are taken on Kosovo can, and very well will, produce countereffects in other areas of the Balkans. Not so easy to simply push for independence now, is it? It's painfully obvious that a wider conference on Balkan security may need to be held that includes the fates of Kosovo, Bosnia, Macedonia, and even Montenegro. Kosovo is not, and has never been, this isolated case all these Washington spin doctors have been saying.

Whatever a solution if it's not agreed by all sides it'll trigger a series of much bigger problems, no doubt about that, while with the current status there're no major problems, we can all agree on that.

Princip, UK

"The second problem, he added, concerns Macedonia, the western part of which is predominantly populated by ethnic Albanians, "who might seek autonomy." "
- and I guess we all know what is really meant by "seek autonomy" - forced independence!

All this suggests the US is looking at ways out of it's self-imposed dead end with it's folly of independece of a second Albanian state on Serbian territory! US position really is crumbling.
