You talk as if you are a part of the EU already.
Fact of the matter is, Albania will not see EU membership in a long time (I would say 15-20 years), as the EU already has enough new states to invest in and does not want to pump millions of Euros into a completely backward economy like Albania has. Romania and Bulgaria are the last states they will let in for a while, aside from Croatia and Serbia (if they let go of Kosovo) which may be in the next 2-5 years.
And by the way, if Kosovo breaks away from Serbia, you will be together with Moldova, Belarus and the Ukraine at the back of the queue for EU membership.
BTW I don't think the idea of Albania and Albanians in the EU is something citizens of the EU dream about, personally I think they would prefer Serbia and Serbians. Negative connotations I know, but there is a lot of prejudice everywhere in Europe. Most people think crime (mafia, narcotics and human trafficking, islamic terrorism etc.) and poverty when they think of Albania, sorry to say.

Rovena,
it seems you have never attended this forum before:
I am persuaded that the only possible outcome for the Kosovo's status solution is independence, as I have always being affirming in my posts.
As a matter of fact I could be judged pro Albanian.
That said I am strongly persuaded that Kosovo status solution could harm the political Serbian scenario giving the anti EU and/or NATO political stances more support amongst the Serbian population.
In that way I fear that also the Serbian economical situation could suffer in the next years; that is why I expect more Serbian people coming in Italy and I confirm what I wrote in my post above.
pre 16 godina
B92 you should have posted my commented. All I said was that Italy joined all Albanian lands a couple decades ago. I don't see the reason for the ban, it's not logical, than again a lot of actions taken against me personally aren't.

Teni,
I'm sorry to disappoint you but I have nothing against Serbia joining the EU, and I'm albanian. I believe that one day we can be good neighbours, independently from what one may think if follows this forum. There is a world out there that wants to wake up in the morning and live peacefully and serenely, it doesn't matter if they are albanians, serbs, bosnians, macedonians or other.
I support the independence of Kosova/o becaue it is the will of the people that lives there, not for any hypotetical political strategy.
As for you Jovan and Ratko, I would suggest to read less misinformed quasi-newspapers and know some more people.
Massimo, what can I say, your filoserbismo this time didn't go in the right way...
pre 16 godina
Well, dear Serbian neighbours. It is clear to every human being that you can't look forward, but are stuck in this circle of selfdestruction that everyone sees but you. First, the same words were said for Slovenia, and off they go. Then Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro and now Kosova. The story and the result is the same, and you still don't get it. Kosova will be independent as a whole, just like the rest of them.
And there is no one to blame but the policy of the Serbian State and its politicians that manipulate their own people on wars and life-wasting. It's time that they too think about people and not territories or borders. It's time to think civilized.
pre 16 godina
I'm confused.
We've been regularly told for a long time that 'Serbs are more interested in joining the EU rather than worrying about the 'loss' of Kosovo'.
Is this a case of wishful thinking by numerous, non-financially viable (and financially viable) media outlets?
pre 16 godina
People!!! Is this real or what?
Do you people actually think that serb leaders actually beleive that they can keep Kosova. Let's suggest that by miracle it was given to them again. How do you manage 2 milion people in Kosova, 1 milion in the region outside Kosova and Albania who have strong ties to Kosova, and of course 4 milions albanians in Albania who also view Kosova as the cradle of their history.
The truth is that serb leaders and any person with an IQ of 80 and above knows that it is not possible because serbia would have to use all their income to pay their forces to handle Kosova. All the income I mean the income that they do not have. Put it this way, and economy like America and Japan would have a very hard time to manage the cost. Serbia can maybe manage for 6 month to a year before it would choke in submission from cost.
So People!!! My dear good hearted people!!!
-Serb leaders loose nothing by the fact that serbia would grow poor and eventually would give up Kosova even without Kosovar effort (based on practicality). They will have money, cars, jobs. And considering their hopes that Kosova status take a long time to solve they beleive that they might get old and pass away before they have to account for anything. People!!! How can you not see this?

Ratko since you don't want to be in the EU anyway, and since you have chosen in favor of Mother Russia and Daddy Putin, I guess this discussion is useless. And I said it is gonna be nicer for the Albanians, Albanians being the operative word. By that I do not mean that I think of Serbs as some sort of monsters that are gonna ruin the EU or any such thing if that is what you thought. I actually think Serbia has a lot to offer to the EU.
The reason why I say that is another: we as Albanians rather prefer to be on different sides of the border from you guys. Call it a sort of complex if you want. And as long as your mind set remains the same as it was in the 1990s I guess we won't change our opinion.
As for the crimes etc, I do not deny that Albanians are involved. Of course, but I just want to remind you of that saying with a pot and a kettle calling each other names.

Why wouldn't the Serbs put KosovO before the EU? This is preposterous! The EU is using KosovO as a bargaining chip - in addition to other requirements.
I would love to see the day when the US is requesting assistance from the UN due to Mexico invading Texas!
The EU, although "beneficial" in some eyes - it's nothing more that a woman holding a designer handbag with pride. Pretty soon the EU will have the same affect on people as the US does. Not too good. It's really a shame.
Once again - pawns on a chessboard with politicians playing for the winning move.
