Last days I see more and more articles about Presevo Valley and comparisons of the situations there and in Kosovo.
I think this is intention of Serbia to actualize another issue and question and eventualy come to new delays with proposals for territory exchange, population exchange, comparison of the standards etc, etc...
It must be clear for everybody that Kosovo has its borders and international community is willing to recognize it within that borders. They are aware about the risks of staring to change them. Albanians in Presevo Valley were there, are there and will be there like K-Serbs in Kosovo.
Good luck Kosovo on your own way...

Delije says:"We should treat the valley Albanians like the K-Serbs. Barb wire around their homes, no freedom of movment, and now and then attack a religious site".

You people dont change dont you? Still watching RTS? Come on you never been in KosovA, serbs here in Prishtina are enjoying them self. Going out every night with there albanian friends.
Things changed thanks god.

John,

Are you serious? You said Serb rhetoric. I just wanted to let you know the one who made the comments, Rasim, is a Bosniak. So, I am asking you now is that really Serb rhetoric? Or maybe it is just called common sense? I can say you are using Albanian rhetoric. What does that even mean? Are you belittling Serbs now by saying we have our own rhetoric? What exactly are you saying? Because if you don't have an open mind I think you have no business posting on a Serbian news site.

It's time for the Serbian government to listen to all the citizens of Serbia and drop down its nationalistic filters. There can be no double standards anymore. If you wanna ever be part of Europe, you should start thinking like Europeans. No one will accept you if you still think like Barbarians in the 21-st century. The first sign of goodwill would be the anulment of the military base projects in the Valley. Let's not forget, before the war in Kosova, there were more tanks and military personel per capita in Kosova than in any other part of Serbia. Now, the same situation is in The Valley. Are we seeing the same thing over and over again?

Zeka

My dearest teni- what will satisfy you? Come on, let's talk turkey. Minorities in Serbia are the most delicately handled in the world. Milosevic is gone, be a part of the New Serbia. Progressive, compassionate and fair (at least trying to be). If only Serbs from Krajina and Kosovo were treated as well.

Delije

Teni, We should treat the valley Albanians like the K-Serbs. Barb wire around their homes, no freedom of movment, and now and then attack a religious site. Get real Teni the K-Serbs are treated like dogs in Kosovo. Maybe we can make your wish come true. I dont see any problem with that.

bganon

Teni your 'brethren' are suffering from economic problems that all ethnic groups in the south of Serbia are suffering from.

Are they being firebombed, arrested, or are suffering discrimination, have limited freedom of movement?

In the end I'd be delighted, truly delighted if Kosovo Serbs and other minorities had the position Albanians have in Presevo today, overjoyed even.

If you are so keen on sending troops into churches and so on this sadly says more about you than about anything else. But go ahead and see what the internationals will say.

Teni
Thats a good idea. How about you do it now and save them from the resumption of terorisam that is being again. Cause and started by ur kin.

DONT U DARE COMPARE HOW SERBS IN SOUTH KOSOVO AND ALBANS IN THE VALLY HAVE BEEN TREATED.

teni

pre 16 godina

The Serbs were always partial to an extreme form of the "carrot and stick" which should more accurately be called "small stick and big stick". It is the only people in the world whose prime minister can promise you prosperity and threaten you in the same sentence. Thank God we got rid of them and when we declare independence we should treat the Serb in Kosova in exactly the same way our brethren are treated in the Valley. Maybe we should start by militarizing Gracanica or the Deçan monastery and some other Serb areas? And let's see if it would seem "hypocritical" to you guys when the K-Albanian Serbs start complaining.

Ruben

pre 16 godina

I am sorry, but what can the Presevo Albanians do? Making declaration when Kosovo issue is hot is their only chance to be heard.

How many you guys in this board have discussed about their problems.
Either you want them secede from Serbia (Albanian contributors) or belittle them and their concerns (Serb contributors).

Yes, as someone mentioned here, as all the minorities in liberal democratic countries, the Albanians in Serbia will enjoy extra rights and benefits. It will be the same with Serbs in Kosovo if the latter becomes independence.

If you want to become a liberal-democracy this is the future. If you want to delve back into the East, well off you go.

Milan, I know that Rasim is an ethnic Bosniak. Do you suggest that Bosniaks are inferior to Serbs and therefore we don't need to take Rasim serious?

This is to remind why Kosova want to be separate from Serbia.Serbia has not learned to respect the human right period. I wonder where is Kate in this one. Do Albanians in Valley deserve any rights at all.

That's the point, Lids. The Albanians want special treatment and more money, because they are minorities. It reminds me a lot of American minorities that receive entitlement benefits. In the meantime they do nothing to improve their own situations - just complain and stick their hands out. Kosovo ?lbanians are no different.

bganon

pre 16 godina

Ljajic is right.

As I said previously the Kosovo negotiations have nothing to do with Presevo and Bujanovac Albanians.

This is simply another case of an interest group trying to get either money or power in repayment for them to shut up.

I think that they cannot make the Serbian position any worse than it already is so they have miscalculated - let them make as much noise as they please.

It is sad the way this political system functions.

Serbia will loose nothing, EA.

Serbia is caring about it´s minorities, that´s why there is a discussion about the future of KiM, but with remarks like yours you´re only showing how immature your approach is.

there is no way that Serbia will give KiM away. so, better help improving the situation instead of worsening it with irresponsible comments.

EA

pre 16 godina

If the Serbian government continues with that kind of language they will be loosing that part of the counnty and more soon and no prospect of any European integration. It is time for Serbia to listen to its minorities and listen very carefully NOW as well as the international community and face the reality. Otherwise it will be too late and then again they have to look for "compromises" and "further negotiations".
