I will send a note to our Ministry of Immigration in Ottawa, asking them to do something to stop this fascist to enter Canada.

I hope that the Canadians posters on this forum do as well.

Anyone interested in doing something about this using political pressure-group tactics should be aware that Thompson's record company is called Croatian Records (formerly Jugoton), and you can try contacting non-Croatian firms that do business with Croatian Records and point out the nature of the type of poison that they are peddling. For example, a simple internet search reveals that Croatian Records have a distributor in the United Kingdom, who sell music from around the world and who might not be fully aware of the Ustasha political agenda of Thompson and that their distribution/sales network facilitates WW2 Fascism in some way. If the British distribution firm is made aware of Thompson and how their own UK distribution network can be used for Fascist propaganda, they could potentially refuse to do further business with the record company. Perhaps. Another search shows that a particular firm in Holland has sold a recording mixing desk to Croatian Records. Again, this firm might not be aware of the nature of the output that its equipment has been used for, but would it want the bad publicity or would it take a stand against making further direct business with the record company. Also a number of other angles to pursue this, but it just takes effort and imagination.

Also, Perkovic is taking the poison to the USA and Canada in November (New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Vancouver, and Toronto), and if some of the venues are not private and have publically-accountable individuals in charge who know (or are told in writing) that this is promoting Fascism AHEAD of the actual event, that would be interesting to follow up on.

I definitely disapprove of Thompson as an extreme rightwing singer and agree that his playing a show in Mostar will just fuel the ethnic tensions down there. His shows are routinely attended by fascist scum of the worst kind, sporting full Ustaša regalia, "Srbe na vrbe" banners, etc.
Still, it would've been nice if the article's author had been a bit more specific on the content of Thompson's message. He could at least have quoted some lyrics showing Thompson as glorifying war crimes and torture at this show. Unless, of course, he was referring to that disgusting version of "Jasenovac i Gradiška Stara" that was a one-off performance, as I understand it. (Which doesn't make it any better but doesn't prove the author's claim that Thompson sang that kind of song at the cocnert in question either.) Instead, he only quoted the song "Čavoglave", which is admittedly nationalistic and glorifies war but isn't strong enough to prove the author's point either.

As for Dragan's comment: Don't worry, you've got more than your fair share of your own guys like Thompson to worry about, instead of trying to use this incident as a justification to ignore legitimate criticism completely unrelated to this topic.

Nazis are 'rocking on' in Mostar, and just yesterday we had Daniel Fried telling us that 'Serbia should leave the past behind'. It just goes to show you how morally bankrupt this US administration is when it comes to the Balkans.
