Rovena,
I recognize two states, Serbia and Albania, I don't know how you or anyone could see that I recognize an independent Kosovo in my post? It is not an independent country, and will probably not be in the future either.

What I DID was that I refered to an albanian poster in a previous post.

And to compare Serbia to a country like Saudi arabia is not fair. Their royal family has built their fortune based on one product only, Oil.
Many serbian billionaries or millionares of course have some shady backgrounds with millions made in the sanction years. But really, do you expect that only because there were unfair sanctions against Serbia that business would die out and businessmen not take their chanses of satisfing a demand among the people?

A friend of mine made over 2000 marks a month in the worst sanction years, 2002 and 2003 by selling petrol on the street! He made 2 weekly trips to Romania and bought petrol there, bribed a customs official with 100 marks and then sold it in Belgrade.

He has not made these money before or AFTER the sanctions, and he was not a criminal, he was just selling to make some money. Of course he might have been a criminal according to the EU and UN since he was breaking UN sanctions, but that is another question.

Great Srbslav is so happy that these oligarchs that amassed dubious wealth by being acolytes of Milosevic and Tudjman are now billionaires and recognised as "gentleman businessmen" while their countries both suffer from about 20% unemployment. And thinks that shows Serbo-Croatian superiority over Albanians. Like Hamid, I'm glad no Albanians are on this list.

I am happy that no Albanian yet is part of that list. Having billionares does'nt nessesary mean a very developed rich country. It could mean that a very lucky and capable person has concentrated such a money, that otherwise could have been in many hands. So it means that anyone of you is actually working for that lucky person. I would have chosen that money in many hands because the propability of investin them better is greater. But no one can stop that from happening. Are they spending that money to make your lifes better. If not why are you so proud of them? Why aren't them bying state property instead of selling that to foreigners? Are you personally getting anything from it? So I am glad Albania doesn't have anyone of them yet. They could have made me jelous.

Srboslav,
No, but really, what has this article to do with the question of Kosovo?
Regarding to the rich serbs, honestly you have to be the first one to get angry while this means that there has no been any redistribution of wealth among all the people that have contributed to the building of the value. It's just simple economics. Remember that several arabic countries have the richest persons in the world but noone has ever imagined to think that these countries are developed! As I told you, it is a question of redistribution. The level of the civilization of a country depends primarly in this issue.
These are the argument to discuss here.
P.S. By the way, refering to this paragraph "
Since one of our albanian posters here claimed that Serbia was less developed than Kosovo and Albania and that Kosovo and Albania would meet the economic criterias for joining the EU before Serbia I think it is somewhat relevant that there are business billionares in Serbia and that other countries invest and open shopping malls in Serbia is an indicator that the economical and political climate has changed to the better since Milosevic regime." you already recognize three different states: Albania, Kosovo and Serbia.
Well it is a step forward, Srboslav. We'll be good neighbours one day!

Aleksander,

I am not saying anything, I just asked a question. I have no hate for albanians or muslims, but that doesn't mean that I support their claim for independence backed by threats of violence.

Since one of our albanian posters here claimed that Serbia was less developed than Kosovo and Albania and that Kosovo and Albania would meet the economic criterias for joining the EU before Serbia I think it is somewhat relevant that there are business billionares in Serbia and that other countries invest and open shopping malls in Serbia is an indicator that the economical and political climate has changed to the better since Milosevic regime. I can't se to many economical progress in Kosovo or Albania despite them having "practical" independce the last 8 years in Kosovo and since the early 90:s in Albanias case despite hundreds of millions of euros in foreign aid.

For the "my father argument" I agree with you, isn't that what the political discussions here is all about ;-)

One side says, we don't need anyone, we will be independent, while the other side says you will not get independence!

If the list were only for legitimate business people, it would be empty. Certainly none of those mentioned in the article would meet such selection criteria.

What does this article has to do with Albania and Kosova?
Is like me writting why these three rich Serbs are not on top of list in Forbes Magazine.
Here we are talking about people that made it reach and worked hard for it +they were smart bussinesmen. Nothing wrong with that, more power to them.

If this list included "Black Market" holdings, I'm sure Albanians would top the list. This list is only for legitimate business people.

Srboslav, what you are saying is simply ridiculous. I wouldn't even imagine that a person would use this article to express his/her hatred against Albanians and also claim Serbian superiority. I remember when I was a kid, we used to say “my father is stronger than yours”. It's so infantile my friend. The number of tycoons is not an indicator of a nation's economic prosperity and progress towards EU integration.

Srboslav

pre 16 godina

How many Albanians are on the list? It would be interesting to know since they claim that albania and Kosovo is more economicly close to EU than Serbia...
