Albanian Friend,

Yes :) Indeed. Live together. We don't need a new state. Live together: in Kosovo, in Serbia (of which Kosovo is part) and Europe!

Thanks, friend!

Ron,

It will soon be over and we will all feel peaceful, at least! You, me, all of us will look after our personal lives without worrying that what Mr. X or Mr. Y said, why, where are they going to meet, who is against it and who is pro, why, for how long, etc, etc. We will all be free of these mind games that take our attention away from the real issues we should really talk about like, the education for us and our children, free movement of people, higher salaries, better health care, bussines opportunities, progress, etc, etc.

Lets not forget that the results of all this mess are already known in higher levels of world leadership. They are just feeding us the information in bite sizes so that we, common people, Serbians, Albanians, all of us, don't choke to death.

1. Just as it has been done in the past. By unilateraly declaring independence until "de facto" will become "de jure".

2. Another answer is: When it comes to the future of my children I wouldn't care less for int law. If you don't like this answer see answer number 1.

Well isnt the whole point of providing your children with a better future? Nothing you say can be taken seriously.

As for independence. Lets see what you will do without the North of Ibar.

PS without Serbian blessing it will never become "de jure."

miri,

(1) But mind that Serbia has THE RIGHT to send troops to permit Kosovo breaking away.
In my opinion the UN/NATO/EU should not support Kosovo in case of unilateral illegal action.

(2) You make me feel sad. Because the Serbs can say the same: if it is for my children, I don't care for law.

If selfish interest is of more importance then GENERAL laws... we live in a sad world.

Face it. International law is not on your side. Get happy in your country: Serbia! PLEASE!!!

Agim, why don't you ever comment on what people say - as oppossed to commenting on the commentator. The diplomat is expressing the Russian side - do you really believe they have been sleeping through the Kosovo process? Please stop the sarcasm, it get's no one no where. I respect the opinions of all the parties involved. Did you think that taking land away from a nation would happen without a diplomatic fight?

Karchenko is losing hope because he is realizing that independence is the only way forward. Russia thought that USA would back down if Russia challenged them, wrong again.

VB
Kosova or as you call it "kosovo" is a separate country, you just choose not to recognize it. Since you don't agree with my post don't sit to read the following just get up and leave. Later proclaim it as a huge victor against your opponent (me) and celebrate it as a huge success of your life.

Ron
What international law? Kosova wants independence not to join the UN. Joining the UN would be a great prospect but after statehood one by one countries will recognize Kosova, sooner or later we will be in the UN whether you like it or not.

When Macedonia declared independence America didn't recognize it for a while. After some time the USA recognized Macedonia not "FROY Macedonia" and one by one all the countries in the world recognize that entity as "Macedonia" except for the Serbs and Greeks.

here is the way i see it going down. Albanians dont listen and declare independence on Dec 10th. USA 9 to 1 wont recognise you without EU so Serbs will retain North and evacuate South. Afterwards you will be like Northern Cyprus for 50 years or so. After which you will give in since there will be no food, water, roads, medicine, security, peace, etc etc...

The way I see it Kosova declares independence some time after December 10th and Serbia can continue to negotiate for the next 50 years. If it helps them deal with it why not?

Finally the russians seem to see the reality too that there is no solution that two sides will accept.
Whenever there is a war between two countries there is only one way out of it. One country wins and gets what it wants and one country looses. This is a natural law and can not be change.
The Kosova case is the same, two countries at war, Kosova won Serbia lost, so now Kosova gets what it wants.
There is not one case in world that a winner would let the looser take the trophy again.

Talks will go on for as long as they have to. 50 years so be it. Russia will c that no UN resolution without Serbian consent doesn't pass through.

Karchenko sees hope in the end but not within artificial time limits - thus the talks will continue until a compromise acceptable to all is found which the "Europeans" are forging.

How loud and how clear do you want to hear from the albanian team that already two major compromises are made: accepting to be independent, and accepting the Ahtisaari plan.
No other compromise is possible anymore, of course if you care for the opinion from the albanian team.
