Then there's another angle, Israelis are much, much more pro-Serb than North American Jews.
wjc of course has every right to protest this. I expect that spc will do the same, for instance, as ngos have already.

Lollee,

I see You got it all wrong. I have no anti-Jewish sentiment, I do not believe that Jews should feel indebted to the Serbs, nor I believe that Jewish organizations have to further Serbian interests.
I believe that Jewish organizations have to further Jewish interests. Preserving the truth about The Holocaust is a foundation. If undermined, everything else will fall. Acting justly on behalf of others fortify the acting on behalf of the Jews when the need arises.

The activity of above mentioned organizations during Balkan civil wars is a dark chapter. If Jewish organizations publicly act in a such manner that is neither balanced, just nor truthful, it undermines their credibility when they have to react to protect Jewish interests. If you lie on behalf of others, how credible are you when speaking for yourself?

In my view, when Jewish organizations help those who falsify the history and misuse The Holocaust for their political gain, it tars the memory of 6 million who perished and provide holocaust revisionists a foothold.

As an example, shameful invitation to Holocaust revisionist Tudjman to the opening of United States Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC.

The propaganda misuse of The Holocaust in the media is even more dangerous. Here is an example during NATO aggression on Serbia. London's The Mirror published fabrication about Trepca smelter being used as a crematorium.

They dared to print this:

“TREPCA - THE NAME WILL LIVE ALONGSIDE THOSE OF BELSEN, AUSCHWITZ AND TREBLINKA”

Trepca was a lie, rabid one. And the sentence above makes Belsen, Auschwitz and Treblinka also a lie, as Holocaust revisionists claim. No Jewish organization protested this misuse use of The Holocaust for propaganda purposes.

In my view they should protested, not because Jews should feel indebted to the Serbs, nor because they have to further Serbian interests but because they have to protect the Memory of the six million who perished in the
Holocaust.

The silence about persecution of the Jews in Kosovo is even more damning. It shows that Jewish organizations do not take Never again seriously. It shows that it can be flexible, that under right circumstances, Jewish organisations will turn the blind eye to persecution of the Jews. It is an open invitation to persecute the Jews.

Last but not least, one-sided,
untruthful actions of Jewish organizations do not foster good relations of Serbian and Jewish people and only may help those who are eager to see the rise of Anti-antisemitism in Serbia, perhaps the only Balkan place where it was not present.

That is what I have meant. If you find it disturbing, you should, because it is very serious issue. You should investigate it further, on your own pace. I have barely touched the surface.

Since you accuse me of alleged ommission of pertinent historical facts, perhaps it would be better if you cited the alleged pertinent facts correctly.

Tito was a Croat, Communist tyrant imposed on Serbs by the Anglo-American carpet bombing and Russian tanks. Tito's policies were openly anti-Serbian, from his involvement in massacres in Macva in WWI onwards.
The mess of Kosovo started with Tito's decision to forbid the return of Serbs expelled by Albanian Nazis and allow
free influx of Albanians from Albania to settle in Kosovo. Tito worked with Nazis and Nazi sympathizers (e.g. Waldheim, Nasser). The fact that he was Anti-Israeli is not surprising at all, but it has nothing to do with Serbs or Serbia. Serbs felt Tito's hand even before Israel was created.

Mr. Petrovic I don't know what to make out of your comments but your extreme nationalistic stance can be also misconstrued as anti-Semitism as well. Is your point that the only use for these Jewish organizations are to further your interests? Your interpretation of history leaves out a few pertinent facts. Why do you feel that the Jews should feel indebted to the Serbs? As I recall from WWII Serbia had their versions of collaborators, the Ljoticeve and such. They were the ones who turned in Jews while Serbia was occupied. Under Tito's rule, Yugoslavia was very anti-Israel/Zionist. Often openly working the the PLO. There are hundreds examples. So what's your point?

This is excellent development and it is good that WJC protested! However, this protest rings hollow because WCJ NEVER protested NATO and their KLA goons making Kosovo Judenrein. When in 2004 Serbian Orthodox Church seeked support from WJC and asked for condemnation of Albanian acts of racially-motivated crimes, it was flatly refused:

"WJC governing board chairman Israel Singer stopped short of condemning the attacks outright.

"What you have said is very, very meaningful and also gives us great pain," Singer told officials.

He later explained: "We didn't condemn. We brought sympathy to people who suffered religious persecution."

http://www.balkanpeace.org/index.php?index=article&articleid=13184

It seems that for WJC hurtful words are more important than hurtful acts.

And the words are not important either, as long as they are not spoken by a Serb.

WJC NEVER protested against Nazi revisionist ploys that presented WWII Nazi perpetrators as Jews and Nazi victims as Nazis.

WJC NEVER protested against the lies of Trnopolje, Srebrenica and Trepca being equalled to the truth of
Auschwitz, Belsen and Treblinka.

http://www.jbs.org/node/582

Even worse, WCJ supported those lies, both with being silent and providing media exposure.

It is important to stress that this rally is not more offensive to the Jews than it is for the Serbs. Both Serbs and Jews were earmarked for extermination by the Nazis. And still are.

Someone is playing WCJ like a violin, like B'nai Brith and other organisations were played in the past. What they protest is actually what they create with their biased approach.

This approach could be dubbed "racism for dummies"

When in doubt, follow the money. Serbian police should trace the funding of "nacionalni stroj" and it will become evident who is behind this disgrace.
