Milan,

This Balkan thing makes me feel so sad. It is all about peace and respect. We don't need another Albanian state. Neither do we need an extra Austrian state in Italy. Or a German state in Belgium.

Respect. Peace.

This must be stopped. I am doing what I can in Holland.

To all: keep writing mails to newspapers and politicians all over the world. Visit blogs, forums, ...

This must be stopped.

For the sake of PEACE!

I am fighting for Albanians and Serbs equally!

Ron,
Hamid does not want to accept that Kosovo and Metohija is a part of Serbian state because he probably come from Albania illegally, after NATO involvement and he is worry regarding his Serbian future citizenship.

(Hamid Karzai, 21. September 2007 22:26)"

I agree, they will have a lot of time to discuss women or sports...since independence is "off the agenda"...

let´s see whether the US are really prepared to harm their own interests, outside the US.

I have read here comments about Kosova and Kosovo and I suggest that b92 decides to delete the comments of anyone using the word Kosova since this word neither exists or bears any meaning;
http://opinionleaders.htmlplanet.com/koskosova.html

I really cannot understand how any Albanians expect to live in peace with Serbs when they are trying to ilegally anex part of Serbian territory? But perhaps I am naive and they do not wish to live in peace and merely view Kosovo as the first step in their Balkan conquest.
Im not sure if many of you relise but up untill WW2 Serbs had a majority in Kosovo and it is only after the following factors that Albanians gained a majority:

SS divisions commiting genocide on Serbs

Extremely low quality of life causing Serbs to move

Overpopulation by Albanian birth rate
This coupled with mass immigration to Kosovo.

KLA operations during the 90's when Albanians had all their rights in place.

Ok, so the "Serbs" (I.e Milosovic) did commit some crimes and Milosovic foolishly took the bait posed to him by the KLA. But lets face it; all the Albanians have returned to Kosovo wheras none of the Serbs have and more are leaving by the day. If any of you take the time to read American analysi about how the NATO intervention started than you will find out it had nothing to do with Albanians being murdered or expelled.

Who will fund a extremely poor tiny country surrounded by states who will not recognise independance and most likely close their borders ?(bar Macedonia and Albania)

Its just silly to think that independance will work in any form let along bring stability.

The whole thing is a farce and I hope that Europe will not be blinded by the US to betray their long time allies the Serbs.

"A poor country like Russia can not help you with anything."

The times, they are a changing.
I am not so sure that the rest of the world, especially Europe, should not take notice of Russia.
They supply Europe with 25% of its fuel and appear to be investing beyond their borders as the attach BBC piece states. NATO is attempting to surround them and the Russians have taken notice and responded. Whoever thinks that the West has the final say needs only to look at the turn of events in the Kosovo talks. You are being naive to think otherwise. It would appear that the West underestimated the resolve of the Russians. Quoting the piece, "Our leaders fail to recognize that this is a game between the Russians and Americans," Unfortunately, we, the citizens of the world, are all going to pay for it.

You really want to open up all of this?

I am sorry, but Kosovo is not worht it. A Kosovo precedent can lead to bloodshed all over the Caucasus, Kashmir, Tibet and Indonesia!

I admire your positivism but I am afraid you will be disappointed in the end, but hey that’s life a.
Serbia’s effort to regain Kosova its like ‘mission impossible’. I give you credit for delaying so far recognition of Kosova State Internationally but the Independence of Kosova is inevitable.
So that’s wait and see what happens? If you prove me wrong you will definitely get an apology from me

The view expressed by Charles Tannock is spot on. Fortunately, more politicians are coming around to his way of thinking. The albanians need to accept that they've reached the end of the road. There is no independence. They need to realise that, although the general public in the West doesn't know the truth about what went on in the Balkans during the 90s, the politians do. There is a growing realisation that the truth cannot be suppressed any longer and more importantly a quasi state based on drug preddling and people trafficking is not in anyone's interest.

We need a COMPROMIZE. Both sides must give up things.

Will be hard, will be painful. Hey, that's life!

Come on. Work on it! You can do it! Welcome to Europe!

My how the tables have turned.

To the people living in the Serbian province of Kosovo, don't get too excited now You ain't seen nothing yet. Russia's got Kosovo in a huge bear hug and isn't gonna let go until someone cries uncle.

You placed your bets on the wrong Superpower once again. Will you ever learn? I doubt the US will be able to save you when their economic recession begins within a few months. Day by day, they grow weaker while Russia grows stronger.
