There was ethnic cleansing of the Muslims at that time at the hands of the Serbs. Hence Muslims wanted to defend themselves.

Its kinda old to "Pounce on the Muslim" and i think its better to stay away from the bandwagon

"In the summer of 1992, according to Tokaca's Report, close to 50 000 Bosniak civilians were massacred in order to make room for GREATER SERBIA!"

Nope, his report and the research by the Norwegians showed that the dead were mostly military and 89% grown men.

The list is from all three sides and includes military and civilians.

In the summer of 1992 they counted the displaced people - those who went to other countries such as Germany, Austria, etc. as "dead". That's why the numbers were so inflated - they simply were counting all the "missing" with the dead and they go higher numbers.

Many people packed and left to sit out the war and many of the people claimed to be dead are back in Bosnia if not living in the U.S. (200,000 able-bodied Bosnian Muslims) or other countries.

Victor,

The only ones in Serbia talking about "Greater Serbia" were the opposition. There was never a plan in the Serbian government to take-over someone else's territory. It simply didn't exist.

I doubt that Arkan even strove for a greater Serbia, otherwise his Serbian Volunteer Guard wouldn't have been in North-Western Bosnia fighting for Fikret Abdic and the Muslims in Velika Kladusa and Bihac.

The Muslims that died in Bosnia died because their leadership and their paramilitaries attacked the Serbs, not because of some fantasy about "greater Serbia". Even Srebrenica, the holy grail of Muslim victimhood, was precipitated by a Muslim attack on the Bosnian-Serbian Army lines when they tried to link-up with Tuzla.

Just as Arkan's paramilitaries were part of the Serbian army! And all these other paramilitary groups and local militias. And they were well paid to make the job, The army would bomb villages and then the paramilitaries would move in to do what we all know.

Again, the Serbs should not look at others, point in other directions, accuse, and blame them for taking actions because of the widespread killing that was going around. In the summer of 1992, according to Tokaca's Report, close to 50 000 Bosniak civilians were massacred in order to make room for GREATER SERBIA!

This is what happened and History will take good note of this.

Of course these people were part of the so called army BiH they were its only claim to multi ethnicity. Many were murderous thugs wanted in their countries of origin hence the reluctance to return to the country of origin. It really is about time those responsible Silajdzic, Ganic, Tihic were brought to trial by their American paymasters , then we might make some progress in Bosnia.

Robert,

Attacks on Bosnian Serbs began in March 1992, and they did not retaliate until April.

It is an uncontestable fact that the Muslims started the Bosnian war. Can you explain why the Muslim Patriotic League existed in 1991?

This nonsense about "Serbs started the killings and ethnic cleansing to create the Great Serbia." is getting really old. This is just a story that the Muslims invented to make themselves feel better. It is much nicer to blame somebody else for your suffering than it is to realize that you brought it all on yourself.

The Mujahideen were in Bosnia because Alija Izetbegovic was an Islamic fundamentalist and he wanted them there.

It is no use denying that Izetbegovic was an Islamic fundamentalist because he wrote a book called the Islamic Declaration where he removes any doubt that he was a fundamentalist. On top of that he had face-to-face meetings with Osama bin Laden.

Ratko, maybe you are right, but this all happened after the Serbs started the killings and ethnic cleansing to create the Great Serbia. Participation of Muhajedin in the Bosnian war is tragic and horrifying, but unfortunately the result of the Serbian agression towards innnocent citizens.

This a complete invention of your imagination! Nice justification for reliance on muhajadeens. Laughable!

Actually Robert, with the violent disintegration of Yugoslavia, it was Serbia that tried to preserve this state. But after the Lisbon Agreement in 1990, it was Germany which advocated Croatia and the Clinton Administration which urged Bosnia to rebel from rump Yugoslavia. With any army, sworn to protect and preserve it's nation/state, I wonder what American's would do if Southern Texas, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, and Southern California rebelled to join Mexico for example? Support of this rebellion and supplied with arms and financing by Chevez in Venezuela for example, via Iran (Iran Gate reversal)? American would crush this insurrection as they demonstrated in Waco Texas (another Clinton highlight film). Simply put, the destruction of then Yugoslavia was being financed and supported well before the actual split in 1991/1992 by outside forces and WE ALL KNOW IT. Mujahadeen were there and Serbs were warning of their presence. Unfortunately, American and the West have and continue to receive an F for seeing the world beyond what's right in front of their face. The inability to view it's actions beyond the NOW clearly has resulted in the Afghanistan where the dog bits back the hand which fed it as the US supported the mujahadeen in Afghanistan during Soviet occupation (9/11). So lets not backtrack again and say the Bosnians were ALL innocent civilians. When a civilian picks up a weapon, he/she is no longer classified a civilian, but an armed terrorist or a traitorous rebel. Multi ethnic state...the world had it in Yugoslavia, but with it's help, and the meddling of outside influences, you have a bunch of mono ethnic states across the Balkans as a direct result of their stupidity....Amusing though, after all these accusations and demonization of Serbia as a whole, it's the most multi ethnic state in the Balkans. What ever happened to the fashionable statement of ethnically pure and ethnic cleansing...mor like Wag the Dog Baby!

The governments of Croatia and Slovenia started the aggression first since they used force and not a diplomatic means. FYI: their weapons were suppled by Germany, and smuggled into then Yugoslavia. Just because the world blames the Serbs for the conflict does not meant they they actually started it, nor does it mean that they were the only guilty party. We have been proven now well Western propaganda works, just look at Iraq, Afghanistan. All propaganda based reporting from the west is believable, why?
