"As long as we can decide about our own future and live freely, with a seat in UN and access to all the international bodies, you can call Kosovo whatever you want.
(Njazi, 19. September 2007 07:41)"

Njazi, I´ll be the first to support Albanians in establishing autonomy of the province within Serbia, that´s something you can believe me.

but a seat within the UN is a sign of statehood, and I not only think that it will not happen, I am also against it.

Serbs and Albanians had a lot of bad experiences with each other, no doubt about that, but that must end in a "european" manner, without breach of law or violence.

once again, in order to make it clear that I have nothing against Albanians ruling themselves in KiM, I support that, the only thing that is out of discussion is "independence".

we can´t do nothing about it, but we can sit and watch and afterwards we will know more.

ps: maybe if Serbs and Albanians should wake up some day and realize that they are only chess-figures and that they are only being used by the great powers, then it would be a big victory for the whole region.

To all the posters,
The main thing is to be free from BG gvmnt. As long as we are free to make our future (I mean everybody in Kosovo) I don't care what it is called. Most of you people write from a distorted patriotic view. I am against any kind of discrimination based on ethnical or religious background. Kosovo belongs to all people who live in it.
Politicians, unfortunately, care only about themselves, whether they are Serbs or Albs. It only happens that in our case we have the same goal.
But one thing that I can guarantee, is that the corrupted ones will face justice as soon as the status is resolved. No one is untouchable.
We will get what we deserve, one way or the other, but it will not be because somebody gives it to us but because we will make it happen.
As far as Serbia is concerned we have had a very bitter experience trusting your politicians, but at the same time it would be pure stupidity to pretend that Serbia doesn't exist.
As long as we can decide about our own future and live freely, with a seat in UN and access to all the international bodies, you can call Kosovo whatever you want.

Then accept supervised autonomy. You will not be ruled by Belgrade but you wont have your own army. Thats it.
(Cvele, 18. September 2007 15:46)

Serb Camp, please for once in your life stop trashing Ahtisari Plan bc that is EXACTLy what it is.

Also I'm reading comments saying that Kosova isn't going to get independence. For those of us who had to flee to survive we are constantly torchured with salt on our open wounds by serbian comments that we read in such places like b92.

"The way things are going it looks like there will not be independence supported by IC"

I agree to Njazi and would add that there won´t be independence at all. but that´s not loss for the Albanians, since they will have their broad autonomy in order to rule themselves, and if they respect cultural and religious sites, I don´t see a reason for any further conflicts.

but of course, it is the Albanians who will have to decide whether they want to continue following some low-level-politicians formerly being in the bouncer-business, like Haradinaj or in the mercernary-business like ceku...

there are many REALLY smart Albanians ( I knew some personally, during my studies ) who only wait for the moment to step up and contribute to the well being of the poeple in KiM.
they only need the chance for it. and that will only be possible when those who profit of the current situation end up behind bars.

Njazi, you won´t regret it, in a few years, with the prospect of entering the EU, many things will change and even borders will only have a relativized meaning.

it´s really time to go ahead and let the past be past and work together for a better future.

ahmet isufi,

Because the West bombed Yugoslavia that gives you more rights? It makes me laugh. Really!

Get real! If the Kosovars get independence outsides the frames of international law, you really think Putin will say: hey, let's forget about South Ossetia?

You really think that?

Njazi.

Autonomous province of Serbia. With an own seat in the UN. Maybe even an own representation in the EU. But offcially Serbian soil.

Everybody happy!

Something like New Zealand that is OFFICIALLY ruled by the English Queen :)

You dont need my word on it. Thats why it would be supervised. By whom? Like we care.

However, in any case you would have the EU guarantee. Since the only way Kosovo would ever enter the EU would be as part of Serbia. That is a huge plus and reason not to declare independence.

This is only unacceptable to the criminals in Kosovo that would lose their protection once autonomy and status are resolved. While, for the average "Joe", Kosovo would see investments and support both financially and materially.

Its really a no brainer.

I must say that b92 did not print the entire story, check bbc site and you will see it.
Lavrov said also the following: " If Koosva gets independence , why should not South Ossetia and Abhkazi get it, too" Sorry Lavrov International Community did not bomb Georgia to save one hundred thousand people of russian decant that live in Georgia. It is russia that is trying to rog Georgia of its land, but yet in the middle of russia they cannot control a tiny Chechenia. russia is strong country, wow I am dying from fear.

Maybe you history book needs some re-writing.

Not a peep out of Kouchner. It looks like Lavrov has put him in his place. Perhaps Kouchner knows to shut up now, because he realizes that if greater albania happens, that is the end of Bosnia - Serbs and Croats there will declare independence on the same principle.

Njazi

pre 16 godina

It would be well advised to aknowledge the fact that Kosovo is not in Middle East or Africa, and that we are not Palestinians.
It would be nice to have everything settled as good neighbours, but it is not neccesary the only option.
The way things are going it looks like there will not be independence supported by IC, but if K-Albs decide to go ahead and declare it, despite everything else, well we will have to live with it and perhaps sacrifice a few things.
But one thing for sure NO ONE will be able to make us go under Serbian rule, ever again.

Ibn lanab

Good news!

EU would be making a big mistake if they decide to give away Kosovo. If they give away Kosovo, they would have to consider Kashmir, S. Thailand, S. Philippines, etc... It's never going to end.
