EA: "Wasn't Serbia which change its Constitution unilateraly last December claiming that Kosova is part of Serbia."

EA, bravo, you got it. Serbia changed its constitution last dec to say Kosovo je serbije than that is enuff proof to say Kosova = Serbian.

Claim:
Kosova is the craddle of Serbian civilization.

Fact:
Kosova is birthing Albanian babies, not serbs.

Claim:
Kosova is Serbian

Fact:
Serb rule is nearly zero for the last 9 years, attempts to return Army/Police have been useless.

Claim:
Status-quo will suffice.

Fact:
Status-quo is not suffice a solution needs to be picked that serves the will of the majority (95%).

Claim:
Kosovar-Serbs in the Kosova Government are decor.

Fact:
Kosovar-Serbs get 10% of Government seats even though they are 5.3% minority. That's 2x more power than they have. With Ahtisari plan the Kosovar-Serbs can enjoy decentralization to the highest level ever achieved.
Kosovar-Serbs also have the highest degree of rights in the world.

Claim:
If Kosova.., than other regions will..

Fact:
Kosova is located in the region of the Balkan, not Asia, Africa, N. Europe.

Claim:
If Kosova is recognized than Mitrovica will be taken by Serbs/Serbia.

Fact:
Srebenica was systematically cleansed of all Bosnians in order for Serbs to settle in and make an overnight canton/province. This technique will not suffice with Mitrovica because 9 yrs ago the Kosovar's formed a majority up there and they (Albanians) have been made to move. History will not repeat itself with Mitrovica.

Kush,

Please go to Ankara and tell the Turkish leaders Kurdistan really has to be independent because of what happened in the 80s and 90s.

EA,

The Kosovars could have taken part in Serbian elections. Kosovo is part of the Republic of Serbia. Please vote for your country. And shape its future!

Learn to like/love Serbia! You are part of it!

Wasn't Serbia which change its Constitution unilateraly last December claiming that Kosova is part of Serbia. That happened when the negotiations about the status were still going on....Stop misleading the international community! It will not work. The independence of Kosova is as close as never.....

Dear, neighbors,

I am pleased to announce that Kosova, will never be part of Serbia anymore, and sooner or later, it will be Independent, but never part of Serbia.

I don't understand the Belgrade politicians, especially Prime Minister Koshtunica, who was the first one calling for removing from his chair Slobodan Milosevic, and now he is acting just like him. I don’t understand until when Serbian government and the Serbian people will find out that Kosova can not be part of Serbia anymore because of that what happened during the 90-s and before.
Serbia should go forward and Kosova as well as two independent states, cooperating with each other, in fields of interest for both sides. But I don’t believe in such a vision, not with these politicians, leading with Serbia.

To Kate: "That record's getting old. I sympathise with what may have happened, but you are talking about since 1989. That's now almost 20 years ago. "

It might be old for you Kate but not for those who went through that. Your sympathies mean nothing since you have been denying what Nick is saying all along. As a matter of fact you are still doubting it by saying "may have happened".
How old does the year 1389 sound to you?

I'm really struggling to understand Albanians. First and foremost for any small nation is to have good relations with their immediate neighbours. Albanian record here is very poor. Then comes EU but Albanians are increasingly at odds with them as well. And US is so far away. You know what people say, it's better to have a good neighbour than a brother on the other side of town.

Well wait everyone till the talks are over - don't jump ahead, starting from your own judgements.
Facts - it's only factual who Ceku has been meeting with, and who serbs have had meetings with. If you don't count the romanian support - then no one. Zilch.
So wait and only look at the factual side of things.
They're only positive for the albanian side - So far at least.

Ceku seems to be on a different page to the rest of the world. Why is he acting like Kosovo is independant when that clearly is not the case.

Anyway, his credability is shot to pieces and it also looks like the EU have now rejected independance all together.
No support for Ceku, means no violence from Ceku. Game over sunshine.

Nick - That record's getting old. I sympathise with what may have happened, but you are talking about since 1989. That's now almost 20 years ago.

Nato acted on behalf of the Kosovo Albanians 10 years ago (at least that was their stated reason) and ultimately turned the Serbian province of Kosovo into a protectorate.

They are hardly going to take fear of history repeating itself as a reason for independence. Things have moved on in Serbia and the rest of Europe now.

Nick

Well said Mr. Prime Minister. We should declare independence immediately after 10 December regardless of the consequences.

Since 1989 Serbia imprisoned tens of thousands of Kosova Albanians, fired hundreds of thousands leaving them with nothing to feed their families, deported almost a million people, killed 10,000, and burned hundreds of villages. WHAT can possibly be worse then that, and what possible consequences are not worth having our freedom and not fearing for our lives.
