The people of the US are being judged by the people in the white house who are obviously out of touch of the American people nor do they care what the people of the US really want. I do not think Russia is an enemy unless we (meaning the White House) keeps forcing it's so called moral agenda on other countries. It is time we take care of our own first.

Jack...

Despite what you think Kosovo is not of big importance to the US. I am sure the US administration are busy drawing up the lines for an attack on Iran now. It has to be done the next year as Bush mandate is comin to an end.
To belive that Kosovo is as important to the US as Iran is just , well, lets just say naive...

And its not that important to EU either, remember when some EU countries (Danke Deutchland) recognized unilatery Croatia and Bosnia? What happended?
I think that EU have learned a lession, not necissarily the US, but they do not decide alone over Europes future regardless of what the Kosovo Albanian team thinks.

There is no way Bush thought he was in Greece.Considering George's short attention span I do not think he heard the last name so he must have thought he was in Mexico cause he only paid attention long enough to hear JOSE.

you guys fail to read the comments properly.
Socrates, just like Bush trying to keep things smooth
so Kosovo/a Independence could be less painful for Serbia.
as far as US going downhill, think whatever you like its your choice, but dont forget, when US sneezes every country in the world has a cold already!!!

Kate=Princip,
US is not clumsy, maybe in your way of understanding the situation which equals 0 (zero).
and yes, I am a K-albanian by heritage, but an AMERICAN.
Anybody have a problem with that???

If you do, "TAKE A HIKE",
if you dont, lets move forward with discussions.
thank you

Jack, judging by the command you have of the English language, and your bias towards the K_Albanian side - I have a suspicion you may be Albanain - even if you are in the US. As far as the EU is concerned, it should concentrate on keeping the Union together and not worry about siding with the Americans or appeasing the K_Albanians. If the US wants to support and carry the Albanians, let them.

yeah, Jack... what else should you say... but reality looks different!

the US are on the way downhill,...slowly but definitely. that´s not even a secret, so for me it is more amazing to read such a comment completely out of touch with the facts on the ground! the US have severe problems to maintain their current number of G.I.´s in Iraq, although many of them are being pulled out of other places in the world... so, US-manpower is still out there, right?

your economy is heavily suffering of an interdependent with China ( remember the Dollar-reserves the Chinese are hoarding )

and there are many more indications for a decline of the "one and only global superpower"...

It's amazing to see the number of comments and the quality of it decreasing in such news favoring albanians.

Me as a nethier albanian nor serbian, should tell you my serbian friends, that our (americans) power is still out there in the whole world, even if not as it has been previously. However, the idea of having EU united, is just a step towards a recognition of unilateral independence, so that Russia is out of the game and US & EU assure that Putin's party losses votes on the following elections.
Think of the Kosovo issue as Puting trying to show to his nation, the Russia's power in the international arena, which is none except that remaining veto right.
So you guys, better look forward to EU, cuz there is none such Russian Integration.
I think it will be interesting to see Kosovo, with all the standards implementing, assuring rights for minorities more than any other EU member state does, joining EU sooner than Serbia, then I imagine how you would feel.

Also a message clear as a bell. Since Kosovo independence would obviously lead to EU disunity then EU supports no independence.

The message should have been that a solution and consensus between European countries are being hampered by the clumsy and irresponsible US promise of independence.

The US and Europe should work together, but it should be on a true long lasting solution agreed to by both sides. Otherwise it's stocking up problems for the future.

It's the EU's responsibility to defend European sovereignty and security. I hope that this is the consensus reached by all European nations.
