Several days after Radio 021 announced a Serbian neo-nazi march, there has still been no reaction from the authorities.

Nikshala,

I think YOU are missing the point Kate and Princip make here. They are far from saying that Serbia is perfect and it's a model example of a country for all to follow.

Rather, it takes some courage to admit the crimes committed in your name and admit your own house is not in order.

A crime is a crime regardless of the ethnic background of the people responsible for these crimes.

A lot of people like you simply post comments which are more knee jerk reactions rather than well thought comments.

Nikshala, when you start condeming the terrorist actions and war crimes of Albanian Pristina leaders, Haradinaj, Ceku and Thaci, etc,. - as most Serbians agree that Milosevic was a criminal - that is when you will be taken as a voice to be respected. Until then, you are just another pro-indy Albanian voice talking anti-Serb propoganda.

For the last 8 years innumerable crimes have occured on Serbian soil without International community paying any attention. Mass expulsion of hundreds of thousands of citizens, torching of tens of religious and historical shrines, planeed destruction and theft of private property, hate crimes
without prosecution, ethnically motivated murders and abductions.

Yes, all this happens in Serbia's 4000 sq. miles of territory ruled by UN and populated mostly by Albanians.

Serbia is country with the largest number of refugees in Europe.

That's why those idiots in Novi Sad are hired- to deflect attention.

The name of the alleged organisation is funny. "Nacionalni stroj" is croatian, not Serbian language. What a bunch of morons.

Nicolas Thompson,
right on!!! what a refreshing post of truth. I love it. Yes, proud Serbian history of standing against the German war machine and their ideals. Shame on these kids, they should look up to and follow in the shadows of the Great Ravna Gora movement and all it was. Yeah Nicolas!

All groups have their angels and demons and no society is immune from hate and violence.A criminal by any other name is still a criminal. However,to hear of neo-nazis in Serbia is almost as disheartening as hearing about a few of them in Israel. These people do not belong to the human race.Shalom

If these youths are real neo-nazis, that means supporters and promoters of Hitler's national Socialist ideology, then they are a pathetic, deeply misinformed disgrace to the memory of Serbs who fought in World War II against this evil.

In March, 1941, hundreds of thousands of Serbs stirred the world when they protested and then celebrated the tearing up of Prince Paul's pact with Germany. It is probably the most audacious act of protest in modern history. At a time when all of Europe was under Hitler's boot, America is not at war and England stands alone, the Serbs defy Hitler! Remarkable. And they paid a monstrous price for that act.

Apart from Russians, the first real resistence to Hitler in all of Europe came from the Serbs again at Ravna Gora, when that great Serb patriot Draza Mihailovic raised his banner of resistence and inspired the world.

Do these Nazi Serb kids know any of this??? Are they so ignorant of their proud history? Shame on them.

Dino,

First, I think you've read their other posts and I believe you have unfairly characterized the tenor of their other posts.

The reason they responded as they did was because the discussion started with the classic "All you guys are horrible monsters and that's why we don't like you."

You and others, on the other hand, have rightly pointed out that there are bad people in Serbia. You then impute their "badness" onto Serb posters on this site and to all Serbs in general and Serbian society.

The same has been true of a few Serb posters. Some criminal does something and somebody condemns all Albanians for it.

Condemn the ideology, not all Serbs or all Albanians. If you condemn a class of people for the actions of a few, that's bigotry plain and simple.

It's not all that complicated a concept.

Kate

Not so long ago a democraticaly elected PM was murdered in Belgrade, not so long ago a journalist was murdered in Serbia, not so long ago were countless reports on roma's getting beaten, not so long ago a serbian man shot 9 people from his village etc etc...

What I am trying to say is that Dino was spot on. The only reason why albanians are commenting on this news, is because every day we hear from people like you Kate and Princip, about how Kosovo is riddled with crime and how Serbia is this little angle with no crime whatsoever. Only recently you commented on a report about trafficiking from Black Sea -Romania - Serbia - Montenegro, where you said Kosovo was responisble and not Serbia, which would be impossible considering its impossible to get from Romania to Kosovo without going through Serbia!!!

K. Albanians have never denied that there is organised crime in Kosovo, as was proved by recent protests against the killing of KPS policeman, however we also say that Serbia has more than its share of criminal activity and extremism, as do other countries in the region - a fact that you only seem to admit when the finger is pointed at Serbia.

And that is the reason why we comment on this kind of news.

Valdet - Not so long ago, the UN reported a case where a teenage Albanian girl of about 14 was tied to a chair and set alight because she no longer wished to work as a prostitute. It took 3 days for her to die.

It was an organised criminal gang in Kosovo who did this. Just one example out of many of the sort of violence which still occurs today.

So how can you point your finger so smugly at Serbia? Yes, it is terrible that criminals and neo-nazis are thriving but in terms of moral high ground you are speaking from an open plain.

kate

pre 16 godina

Dino - Maybe it's you who doesn't get it. Did you consider that?

I don't preach tolerance about this at all. I hate all of this neo nazi rubbish. But using it to score points against Serbia is just irresponsible.

It just makes things worse.

Dino

I agree Avi, kate and princip, etc are fairly vocal when it comes to something happening in another country. but when its their own, their stance becomes "it happens in every country" and preach tolerance and how all we should get along. Which is the way it should be of course, but that stance has to be non-conditional on whether the perpetrators are serbs/non-serbs or victims are serbs/non-serbs. and judging by kates and princips comments in the past, their stance isnt non-conditional, which is why you are getting caught out now and its been thrown back at you. Kate, one little comment about peace isnt going to wipe out everything said in the past and your comment about concert is proof that u still dont get it.

In Eastern Germany neo nazis are the third party after CDU and SPD.
It seems that where communist regimes ruled we have the strongest nazi movements (see Russia for another example)

kate

avi - Of course there are neo-nazis in Serbia, and in most other countries. They gain a foothold when nationalism and patriotism is stoked up, which becomes worse when a country feels isolated (helped along nicely by US policy and EU lack of spine).

I don't think those in glass houses should chuck stones. Kosovo is hardly free of unacceptable radical attitudes and behaviour, or a paragon of progression. When was your last rock against racism festival?

I agree 100% with bganon: "Its pretty simple really ZERO tolerance for neo-nazis."

Valdet, Vushtrri

War criminals, mass killers (Jabukovac), High level of organized crime(Zemunski Klan), Sectarian "Black Rose" killers of children’s (Novim Banovcima), and finally Neo-Nazis. What's happen with yours society Serbian folks?
