Thank you Mr Kostunica, but this is not what the people of KOSOVA want. Your people have succeeded in achieving the partition of Bosnia, and GOT AWAY WITH IT.

THIS MUST NOT BE ACHIEVED a second time. The people of Kosovo want INDEPENDENCE and nothing else.

Well it is a good thing that you acknowledge that us Albanians do not think alike at the same time. I thought I would have problem passing the first hurdle but I see that the rational thinking is still prevalent in UK.
As for Kosova being multiethnic I strongly believe that it will. Conflicts like their causes are not permanent phenomena. You have to give allowances for a bloody war waged on us only eight years ago.
I have to disagree with you on the signs too. I personally think the reverse. The main stumbling block I would say is the Serbian attitude.
Serbian thinking towards the Albanians has not changed much in the last 100 years. It is perplexing to be faced by irrational hatred and generalisations by representatives of a nation whose claims to Kosova are constantly linked to civilisation process. Not long ago one of their PMs really believed that we Albanians had tails and slept on tree trunks. I do hope that the posts I have seen here are not generic representations of the Serbian society views. This mindset is a real and direct obstacle for peace and progress.

This is so naïve! I think even if there is an article that says the water is wet, you will still disagree- if the information-source is from Kosovo, Serbs will categorically disagree, and other way around. Don’t get me wrong, arguments and disagreements are a healthy thing to do, but they have to be based on subject and need some logic, not just for sake of it.
I thing we might be able to agree on this one – Both Albanians and Serbs are having worst standard of life and perspective for the future in whole Europe. Do we agree?

I am surprised that the favoured option that seems to be being forged by the EU is partition - one would have thought this would be their worst case scenario. It reminds me of some hard-core nationalist sentiment that different ethnic groups cannot live together - makes me wonder if some in the EU are hoping the Serbs did ditch its ethnic-Albanian citizens who would be trapped in and offered countless excuses for not being allowed in the EU - just a thought!

Koha Ditore is definitely one of the most independent and reliable Newspapers in the region of ex-Yougoslavia. Many diplomats and experts engaged in the issues of ex-Yu republics will confirm this. It is this newspaper that was the first to publish the "Ramboulliet Agreement" in 1999, the first to publish key points of the Ahtisaari Plan and the first in many other issues. Even Belgrade media (B92, beta, etc) can confirm the reliability and serious sources of Koha Ditore.

The Serbian people really do not want the Albanians part of their country & the Albanians do not want to be part of Serbia. This is that moment that we can have our cake and eat it to. Serbia will lose more out of this, because of the land loss. But will wash the hands of the people that are not loyal to Serbia . And the Albanians will have their independence of their half from Serbia. Lets give partition a chance and draw that line in the sand. You KNOW Kosovo is just a province of Serbia!

If there is to be a partition of Kosovo the Serbs must ensure that the monestaries of Pec, Decani and Gracanica (which I believe are in southern Kosovo)are given independence. Their status should be equivalent to the vatican in Rome, states within a state.

The Serbs who have independence forced on them should be compensated giving them the opportunity to move north perhaps the US can fund this. Since the US are so keen on giving independence to some, I say give independence to all, RS included.

Serbia is more than battel grounds and churchs, it's also the people. I want Kosovo w/out the problems. I want my people to move freely, and not live behind barbed wire. My father in laws entire family moved from Orhaovac by a military convoy to Belgrade, because they feared for their lives. I have heard first hand stories how his friends & some family were being executed by the kla while others cut through ropes with a pocket knife to escape to Serbia proper via the forests. Weather it's autonomy or independence the Serbs in s-Kosovo have no future. The police are former kla, the gov is former kla leaders and your only security are foreign troop, that can care less for them. I would trade all of s-Kosovo for the lives of my people that live their. I'm for partition.

there is nothing to be divided, Albanians have Albania. Kosovo is all serbian, culturally, historically, legally.

times will change, and Albanians will have to accept reality, just as France and Germany overcame their centuries-long struggle.

but until that happens, Kosovo stays what it is ( remember UNSC 1244 ) serbian territory!

and there is absolutely no reason to draw any lines into the sand.
