Rade, are you aware of the fact that in the end it was just Serbia against ALL countries of fromer Jugoslavia.
So who was Serbia supposed to defend? By the time when Serbia attacted Croatia or Bosnia in the name of "Jugoslavia" you could habe also replaced the title "Jugoslavia" into "Serbia"; a Federal Republic cannot exist due to the will of ONE country - in this case Serbia.
So how can ONE country "defend" an idea that wasn't supported by almost all countries who were part of this "idea" (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Macedonia).
Even Montenegro (a country which is actually known as very Serbian-friendly) didn't want to be part anymore.

So who was to be defended by Serbia? Who? Or was it Serbia who thought it would be the spearhead of the Balkan people - and in this case having the right to rule over the Balkan's people fate?

You should actually mourn about the blood and hate - a result of this "right to defend" (once again: who?)

Well said Rade, with you 100% :)

And it is completely understandable that the PM should not apologize, most case I agree with his adviser.

Of well this will all be old news in 2 days tops, the government will move on and address problems together.

Mr. Rade (5),
I do not agree on what you have written. Kosova case is unique. It bears no resemblance to your Republika Srpska or the so-called republics in the territory of the former Soviet Union. Your Republika Srpska did not exist as such in the former Yugoslavia, nor did those in the former Soviet Union. They were created out of nowhere after the break up of the Soviet Union as did Republika Srpska (I am not sure if the spelling is correct because I do not know Serbian. "Germany did not apologize, it merely explained its policy. In the same way we will explain ours. Montenegro is a recognized state, with which we wish to develop good relations," Jeremić answered.

So Serbia wants to behave like Germany now! Well, Mr. Jeremic this is nothing new and you don't have to worry about. Your country has behaved like Germany for the last 20 years, just simply ask Slovenians, Croatians, Bosnians and Albanians.

There are a multitude of views expressed in any healthy democracy. US politicians express widely varying views on many important issues; pullout from Iraq, trade sanctions against China, possible military action against Iran. They have even been known to criticise their own president and disagree with him in international forums from time to time!

Some posters display their complete ignorance of how democratic politics work. People are free to express their views and yes, they could upset others.

The US administration doesn't apologise every time an American politician makes a statement that 'insults' politicians in another country, nor should they.

Serbia is a democratic country that doesn't censure its politicians. Censure is what happens in a dictatorship, where all politically active figures must deliver the same 'official' message or risk punishment, as is apparently the case with the soon to be replaced Kosovo Albanian leadership.

Serbia is not about to scrap democracy so that some people won't be 'confused'.

James, are you aware that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was actually a country with the right to preserve its existence?

By your logic, any separatist movement in any country should automatically be supported from the outside.

Should we all support independence for Scotland by interfering in the internal affairs of Britain?

Would you allow your friends and neighbours to run your household, even when they have the best of intentions?

It would be unthinkable for any country to have actively armed, trained and lent political support to either side in Northern Ireland.

That conflict was resolved in a far different manner to that in Yugoslavia.

I leave you to conclude why.

But no apology!!
