"This meeting is to tell the rest of EU and UNSC that this solution was tried as well and the it resulted with no success."

Ok so basically EU is not a democracy since few are dictating many how to act and what to do, and according to u, EU will dictate to UN how its going to be.

JEFFERSON CITY (AP) - About 1,000 Missouri Army National Guard troops will be deployed to Kosovo early next year.
The Guard says it will be the state's largest single unit deployment since World War I. The exact date of the deployment has not been set but it will be between January and April. The Guard's 110th Combat Support Brigade, in Kansas City, will lead the Missouri unit in peacekeeping efforts in the Balkan nation.

I read your link, Gorni. I also read the comments that followed - that overwhelmingly think Kouchner's opinions are junk! Who should I believe, an EU bureaucrat like Kouchner, who openly hugs Albanian politicians at meetings or, the consensus of everyday people with a brain of their own?

Princip
I agree with you on the fact that Ceku resigned because he was already informed that there will be no independence.

The reality on the ground is that no NATO or EU country will stay there if there is no UN resolution. They will leave and take their weapons with them.

Serbia will claim the North and economically starv the south of the province. That is unless an autonomy is nagotiated.

Show of hands who thinks US will leave soldiers there to die by both sides for not keeping their promisses? Exactlly.

What is there left to discuss???
This is just a waste of time and money. This meeting is to tell the rest of EU and UNSC that this solution was tried as well and the it resulted with no success.
So here we go Ahtisari plan even though I don’t like it at all. This plan is giving to much to a small minority of Serbs in Kosova. However it is not a bad start

Cvele

Lets start negotiating. If you can give us Krajina and RS then we will give u South of Ibar. Can you do that? Didnt think so. So the only debate we have is since UN rejected ur independence, making it entierly unacceptable for EU to act now, then all that remains is how your autonomy will be arranged.
Reality is that without EU, Serbia will move back in and seal of the borders while securing the North. Meaning that you will all be prisoners in Kosovo. Its the reality on the ground.

Alexsander,

continue to deceive yourself with the few words put forth by these 2 ministers but the reality come the 10th December is;
No Independence
No Illegal Declaration
No Illegal Recognition
No Violence - NATO will act.

- the telling term in all those words by Milliband & Kouchner is;

"This round should be the last."

SHOULD is not to be confused with IS.....

If there is no "negotiated compromise" the talks will continue till they do.

Any act by either party against peace which includes illegal declarations will either be stopped in their tracks or will have to face the responsibility of the inevitable consequences with total abandonment of their so called 'friends' who promised what was never theirs to promise.

Of course shrewdly Ceku has already resigned having been informed the the way things are being played out and so who ever gets voted in is likely to have a severe loss of credibility quite early in their post.

A further sign is that the EU just yesterday downgraded the priority of order and put the discussions regarding Serbia's province onto the agenda for Saturday along with other issues such as Middle East and a forthcoming African meeting.

Who cares what a Brit and a French have to say. Apart from Serbs and Albanians the decision is between an American, a German and a Russian.

To Princip,
You accused me of not "comprehending" English a few days ago. Since you live in UK you should (but do not)know about languages, including English.
You are a very interesting young lad. You read smth and then you decide that there is smth that was implied and, voila, it is a fact.
I failed to find the noun SOVERIGNITY in that article that you are refering to (KOSOVO: EUROPE'S CHALLENGE).
Anyways if you are for negotiations, hell why not???
Lets start negotiating about Kosovo's independence.

Princip, don't be silly, man :) Instead of commenting on the content of the article, written by the foreign ministers of two most powerful European countries, you are pleasing yourself with the comments of anonymous posters of either Serbian or Albanian origin. What change does it make if a Serbian-British waiter, who may be working even in a fancy restaurant in London, gives a “contra-argument” to the joint statements of the Foreign Ministers of France and UK? Or, just imagine how pathetic it is if, let's say, my fellow Albanians please themselves with my comments on B92 against the official statements of the Russian Foreign Minister or even the Russian President. Focus on what those two gents said: "we are confronted today with the last stage in the breakup of the former Yugoslavia", "After 14 months of painstaking talks between Belgrade and Pristina, UN special envoy Martti Ahtisaari carefully crafted his own package balancing as best he could the two sides' positions. His proposals recognise the aspirations of the overwhelming majority of Kosovo's population for independence while also providing extensive protections to the Kosovo Serbs.", "This spring we worked intensively in the security council on a resolution that would implement Ahtisaari's proposals and finally resolve Kosovo's future. Russia and Serbia argued that further talks between Belgrade and Pristina could deliver an alternative outcome. The security council route was blocked, but we had to do everything possible to reach an agreement. At France's initiative, the Contact Group - in which we participate along with our German, Italian, Russian and US partners - proposed the launch of a round of negotiations facilitated by an EU-US-Russia Troika. This round should be the last.", "Therefore, as the Contact Group made clear when it launched the new process, if Serbia continues to argue that Ahtisaari's conclusions are unacceptable, then the responsibility falls on Belgrade to come up with alternatives that have some chance of acceptance in Kosovo."
Any comments on the above, Princip!

Good one Aleksander - I also particularly enjoyed the UK commentators viewpoint which tells a huge amount about UK sympathy for the way forward in resolving Serbia's internal issue with regards to it's province which has a predominance of Serbian Albanians. Looks like UK polulace are very clear about how Serbia's soverignity needs to be respected.

Lets hope that everyone can start to realise that only a fully inclusive "negotiated compromise" is the way to resolve the isue regarding Serbia's province of Kosovo & Metohija. All other alternative scenario's will be unstable and create greater misery for the region. Let's hope the 'EU' get the message across to the US that it's meddling in Serbia's internal issues must end and the US must respect the Sovereignity of the Serbian state!
