"Independance for Kosovo goes against everything Europe stands for; multicultralism, holding grudges, being rewarded for terrorism, islam and continuation of "ethnic hatred" by Albanians.
Kosovo entering the EU alone is a paradox which Europe will not be blind to.
(Vuk, 5. September 2007 14:24)"
Dear VUK
First no matter what scenario comes it will end on the freedom of Kosovar people and under no Serbian Rule.
Secondly nobody is "finally oppening their eyes..." because for you it might be a game but not for us living in Kosova/o, and you know better than i that when you try to portrait Albanians as terrorist Islam country it's really not working anymore ( it did in late 90's but today). Just klik on this link or googe it http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/102578.html
And finally we both agree on one thing that there should be no exceptions when it comes to the freedom. There can be no negotiations on it. This nation has a right to ask for its freedom by all means and protect it to the end. And trust me there is no going backwards anymore.
Thank you

WOW VUK, Kosovar-Serbs owned 50% of property in 1999? Where do you get your source of information from.

BTW has anyone noticed Serb Camp tactic change? They are now replying to every pro-independence statement with "you sound nervous" and their arguments are getting more and more ridiculous. For example where in the world could VUK get such mythical figures?

Short of both sides accepting partition, nothing is going to happen in the foreseeable future. Yes, Kosovo may declare unilateral independence, and yes the US and some other countries may recognise it. However, without Russia there is no chance of UN recognition. Since Kosovo is basically run by the UN, it will either have to drive out all the UN troops, or just accept that, even after declaring independence, it can't actually act independently. The UN aren't going to just shut up shop without a new resolution, and much as I hate Putin, and think he is an opportunist, he is going to stick to his guns on this one as it gives him lots of chance to annoy the west. Plus there is no way Kosovo can even hope of ever achieving EU membership without being recognised by the UN.

This kind of headline "No elections before battle for Kosovo" does nor deserve a comment. Every statement of failed Serbian politicians deserves no attention at all.
This statement would be calling Serbs 15 years ago to battle against unarmed population of former SFRJ.

Ahilleas, you are right, Serbia has very beautiful sites but that would not necessarily change Serb values. I just wonder what would you or any Greek have to say about Turkey and their beautiful sites and Turkish values.

Nick, Hamid

Your both claiming that support for the KLA, separatism, islamism, nation feud(like blood feuds) should materialize itself in Independence at the cost of the Serbian Nation.

50% of all building papers in Kosovo were held by Serbs so if anyone should be paying up it should be Agim Ceku and his KLA buddies. The damage to Serbs in Kosovo has been far greater in financial terms then for Albanians who overpopulated the province which has now resulted in vast unemployment and criminal activities.

These two communities of people should be given the chance to live together again with Albanians hold the lion share of political responsibilities due to their majority.

We will not talk about how this majority has been achieved in the last 80 years but lets just say not by peaceful means.

Wide Autonomy with well defined powers will be everything the Albanian should ever want in terms of economic stability and entrance to the EU. How can Kosovo and Serbia both be in the EU if one of them does not even recognize it's independance? It doesnt make sense nor does it represent a compromise in any way so Albanians are going to have to look past their US promises if they are to prosper.

Vuk

pre 16 godina

Supporting Kosovo independence is supporting illegal immigration; violability of borders; meaninglessness of international laws; secession by critical mass ethnicities; guerilla warfare; ethnic purification; religious purification; no rule of law; mob justice; collective guilt; blood code; no minority rights; selective justice; sex slavery; terrorism; the drug trade; mafia states; and might-makes-right diplomacy and intervention.

What Battle of Kosovo? There is no battle to be won!
I give you credit for managing to delay Independence of Kosovo- I am not surprised though, I expected that from Serbia. However, your wasting your energy as there is nothing in this world that could stop a nation from being free. The outcome of all this process is Independent Kosovo, whether this year, next year or year after is irrelevant the outcome is Sovereign State of Kosovo. Of course the sooner the better for parties, the money and the energy both parties are wasting on these so called negotiations sorely could be used for improving quality of life and improve relations between them.

The current political situation is only contributing to the unemployment and poverty in Kosova and the International Community and our own political leaders must understand that patience is not limitless.

Have some humanity for god sakes, do you ever think of the people who remain unemployed and hungry while you claim to be protecting International Law and state sovereignty?

Do you seriously think International Law and Serbia's sovereignty mean anything to these people who have been through war, refugee camps, unemployment, poverty etc?

Independence for Kosova is the only way for Kosova Albanians to make absolutely sure that their children and grandchildren wont have to go through what they went through.

Is is only by understanding and recognizing the crimes of Serbia than Serbs can truly understand WHY Independence means so much to us Kosova Albanians and WHY we will not give up on independence.

Skipp - admitting defeat?? Are you joking? If you have been paying any attention, you would have noticed that Serbia is winning this public relations war hands down. Europe is completely, and openly, divided on this issue now with more countries changing to the Serbian side weekly. Russia have openly said that Kosovo is red line that will not be crossed, which means there will be no greater albania, period. The Serb position gets stronger every day, and time is on their side, as people begin to realize the truth about Kosovo. Albanians have shown the world how they treat their Serbian neighbours, and Serbia is the most tolerant, multiethnic country in the balkans. The illegal and immoral greater albania plan is dead, and justice is winning over power.

Vuk

pre 16 godina

It sounds from the comments above that Albanians are becoming suspicusly tense about what the Serbian goverment is doing.

Maybe it is because they are coming into the relisation as is the rest of Europe that Independance is not a viable option and in no way represents a compramise.

Agim above mentions some sort of Serbian defeat out of Kosovo but he neglects to mention that the KLA were defeated in almost a couple of weeks. And this "Victory" against the Serb police/military was based on NATO bombing oil refinariesm, water supplies and skyscrapers in Serbia. Its not as if NATO was engaging with land troops.

Serbia's government are preparing something for Albanians which will represent everything they have wanted as a country and in real terms "self right to rule" but holding back independance to save the face of Serbian people. This is probably going to take alot of people by surprise as it is going to represent a real compramise which troika members among others will see as the first step in the right direction.

"At least K. Albanian politicians are being honest and saying we are NOT willing to compromise anymore on independence. " Nikshala

This sums it up, Europe has opened it's eyes as it comes to the critical hour and they see that Albanians are not compramising but are sitting on US promises. They are almost forgetting they are a part of Europe and if Europe choses to back it's Serbs who are genuining turning over a new leaf in democratic and diplopatic terms then that is fair enough.

In 1999 the whole Kosova was burned to the ground.Any body knows the cost of the damage that will be paid from Serbian goverment? I am sure that the cost will be deducted from the externel debt Kosove has.

Supporting Kosovo independence is supporting illegal immigration; violability of borders; meaninglessness of international laws; secession by critical mass ethnicities; guerilla warfare; ethnic purification; religious purification; no rule of law; mob justice; collective guilt; blood code; no minority rights; selective justice; sex slavery; terrorism; the drug trade; mafia states; and might-makes-right diplomacy and intervention.

Independance-SRS voted in-War declared-bloodshed

Independance for Kosovo goes against everything Europe stands for; multicultralism, holding grudges, being rewarded for terrorism, islam and continuation of "ethnic hatred" by Albanians.
Kosovo entering the EU alone is a paradox which Europe will not be blind to.

skipp,

This was a well predictable ridiculous ploy to try to delay the decision of the world community. "don't decide yet...wait until our elections are over..otherwise the radicals could win". What a comedy! Kalashnikov Kostunica and his people are just like the radicals...no difference whatsoever.

Dear all, is really interesting to read your comments, all of you I see that the influence of your politicians and your source of information is doing very well... by the way think for the future every body and think to live your lives out of history. If turn back just a litle and then we can see how the Soviet Union was seperated, how the Yougoslavia was seperated and then is very easy to understand that there are always particular situations when one group of society can not live together with one other and that's why should be seperated, is common sense, comes naturally like a divorce in marriage.

Hi Achilleas,
As you didn't reply me for the last posting, did you asked your granfather about the Albanians who fought for the Greek Revival, Cameria and Pangallos, being a Arvanitas. Or as you are from Janina, maybe you have had an Albanian relative? Did this possibity disturb you, my friend? Don't worry, I don't think this would be any good at all.

Thank you
