Hi, I live in Trelleborg, Sweden and am a Student of Political Science here in Sweden. I feel the need to enlighten some of those commenting here. In Sweden there is a ruling alliance which actually very much support independence. One of the political parties in this alliance has also in a large majority voted for a resolution calling for the independence of Kosovo. Folkpartiet as it is called has amongst its ranks a leading politician that is Albanian. He might have had a hand in forming a pro-independence stanch among his party. I must also state that Sweden has a history of "abiding to EU decisions" so if the EU would recommend its member states to accept the independence of Kosovo, Sweden would be the first to accept it. There is also a need to remember that a Swede leads the current EU mission in Kosovo and the Swedes are very well informed with the risk of not granting the province independence. This does not mean that they do not listen to the ideas presented by the Serbian government. We do, if I recall correctly have very good ties with Serbia, mainly because of a significant Serbian diaspora residing here.

Bildt is just like every other Northern European. He doesn't have any problems with violating international law for the benefit of Corporate Europe. He doesn't want to leave the Kosovo Albanians an excuse to move North. He's willing to risk sacrificing Macedonia, Greece and Montenegro's stability for the obtaining the first two objectives.
I´ve read it. But the question is, how can Carl Bild know that EU will be united in its view? That has never happened in EU history, they can´t even agree on something as simple as its constitution, why should they be united in the Kosovo question? Of course if everyone agrees with Britain it would be unity, but I seriously doubt that..
Albanians will be free to govern themselves in the Autonomous Serbian Province of Kosovo-Metohija. That is what I am stating. I cannot write in Albanian so, that is the clearest I can be.
Bildt, who are you fooling, stop playing with fire! He knows very well that Kosova is gonna be independent, or maybe he should spent more time with his american fellow Mr.Holbroke instead of Kostunica & Co.

papajohn, are you aware that you on your own admitted the Indpendence of KosovA by your own words, as follows:" Free from Belgrade rule", hm, finally coming around and ready to face reality. Better late than never.
Autonomy for the Serbian province of Kosovo will be presented to the UN in December. It will then be approved by the UNSC, and Kosovo will be automomous. Free from Belgrade rule. There will be no land grab, no redrawing of borders, minority rights will be upheld and enforced, KFOR will remain to police and long as necessary, and no violence will occur. Concentration will be on improving the standard of living. Separatists on both sides can shake hands and tolerate each other. End of story. Put this thing to rest already.
The Swedish model of development is the best Europe has to offer.It is a country of educated people who know how to enjoy life.Serbia would be wise to Swedenize their society as much as possible.

Sweden is the most developed county in the whole world and therefore there is no doubt that Sweden will adhere to international laws and the UN. Bildt knows that there will not be a chance in a million to go outside the UNSC. He also know that proclaiming Kosovo independence unilateral, will be void by 95% of the world. Therefore, he is interrested in the details of the plan for substantial autonomy.
