It is not fair how some people give comments about Montenegro, its history and its population with no facts.
Montenegro is an example for other countries in so many things, through the past, history and lately separating from Serbia well mature act,as we now evry former RY separated from Serbia through war. Montenegrins showed how old and civilised people are.

Montenegro was THE OLDEST state that entered the former yugoslavia. and yet croat and slovenes were given the role of constituent nations while montengrin state was wiped out, while serbs tried to wipe out our nation as well and assimilate us. guess what: the fact that i am here today writing this and with no nationality identity crisis WHATSOEVER, and the fact that our HOLY land has been resotored as an independent state proves that serbia failed miserably even after 80 years of trying hard. the only reason why our King, god rest his soul, was forced into exile was so that karadjordjevics could become the ruling dynasty in the new state in 1918. how else would you justify not having Petrovics as monarchs. after all, while karadjordevics were still regular village folks involved in livestock trade Petrovics were an established dynasty.
to ethnic serbs living in our country, you want albanians in kosovo to be your loyal citizens after all that's happened, how about leading by example and being loyal decent people in other coutries where you live. i don't know where your trouble with albanians comes from. they are loyal citizens here. we also took in albanians as refugees in 1999 as we did serbs from bosnia and croatia, but guess who turned out to be loyal and grateful and decent. guess who didn't.
may i suggest a little humility on the part of the serbs, losing all that hubris. loving your neigbors, cooperating, looking after economy. anyway your wasting your time trashing our BEAUTIFUL LITTLE country. nothing greater about it but we love it all the same.

That royalty that was "wiped" out the Petrović-Njegoš dynasty were the biggest supporters of reuniting with all Serbian lands... so much for your history.

indeed a shame they were wiped out...

Honestly "your history" meaning yourself,Đukanović and his party really began in 2006...anything before that belongs in Serbian history books.

Of all people in the former Yugoslavia, Montenegrin's have the worst excuse for statehood...

Serbia should give back what Montenegro has given so kindly to Serbia (what a shocker Montenegro given Serbia something!! :o)

And that is:

-Milosevic
-Arkan
-Karadzic
and a hell of a lot more...

I don't consider Montenegro or Montenegrin's to be a separate people of Serbs, especially since I am a Montenegrin (Locally) and Serb (Nationally) ...look into Montenegro's history if you don't believe me.

But since it is a "independent country" at the moment, I feel Serbia should exploit this opportunity to get back all that Montenegro has taken...as well as given (IE) Milosevic,Arkan,Karadzic and more...all of them "Montenegrin" and let them take responsibility for them not Serbia.

Dukanovic the man that won independence for Montenegro is wanted in Italy and pretty much the whole EU for organized crime. And get this right after independence he gets immunity as President and then he just retires...but gets to keep his immunity.

Ida: I completely agree. If Montenegro wants to be a country well then it better start acting like one.

It only pains me for those honest Montenegrin Serbs who have to deal with these kinds of people...

A little FYI the presence of Montenegrin-Serbs such as my self honoring their Serbian heritage is prevailing world wide.... maybe the rest will wake up one day and realize who they really are.

Until then, Serbia will be waiting...but not thinking of you.

Regards.

"as for our "ethnicity" we owe serbia precisely nothing and want to be left out of her misery and turmoil."

Hopefully you'll get out of Serbia's job market and stop getting freebies in education and hospital care. Montenegrins have been leeches on Serbia long enough. There are more Montengrins in Serbia than in Montengro itself and many of them are corrupt.

mike, montenegrin skeletons do not count thousands, if not tens of thousands, like some friendly, brotherly, sisterly and what not neighboring countries. we are dealing with our war criminals or those who happen to be in our territory and are btw mostly ethnic serbs, or so they say. filaret is a businessman who drives jeeps and endagers foudnations of mediaeval monasteries building commercial fishponds nearby and amfilohije spat on the memory of late djindjic right over his coffin. avi in the first comment said it great for goddsakes these should not be allowed inside a church let alone a country. as for our "ethnicity" we owe serbia precisely nothing and want to be left out of her misery and turmoil.

serbs should look up to other ethnic minorties in montenegro and become loyal and peaceful citizens.

Montenegro has its own skeletons in the closest when it comes to war crimes. If we were to really play up this idea of a Montenegrin ethnicity, then Serbia is no longer responsible for capturing Radovan Karadzic. The government in Podgorica is simply playing politics to somehow curry favor with international observers. If they were really serious about keeping war criminals and aides to war criminals out of their country, they would also target the large elements of organized crime in the state, as well as hunt down all major particpants in the wars of the 1990s, who are now sunning themselves on the streets in Podgorica. don't think that suddenly after independence the government had a change of heart and are now as democratic as any good Scandinavian.

Very correct decision of the Montenegrin government to keep this helper of war criminals out of the territory. It shows Montenegro is a serious European country, which does not want to be associated with war crimes. It is not for nothing that the bishop is on the list of the Tribunal.

Isn't this bishop being famous for preaching hate and disrespect? A prominent Serbian Orthodox Church official openly supporting and justifying Serbian war crimes in the former Yugoslavia... Pretty sick making to hear such a man now talking about human rights and freedom of religion.

And for the hunger strike, it always good to loose some weight.....:))

Them people should not be let entry to a church or country.
They are not people to preach what is good and what is bad.
It is very mature move by Montenegro.
