It dosent matter if there was only 1 Serb in all of Kosovo and everyone else was Albanian, Kosovo is legally a part of Serbia, thats all that matters.

Nato can do what it likes, including its level of troops and the duration, AS LONG AS THEY DO NOT FLOUT 1244 which authorized them to be in Kosovo.

By the way, a unilateral recognition of Kosovo independence would be a violation of 1244.

The plan has to please at least 93% of the population, I won't circulate the thought that the other 2% don't want to be ruled by Serbia either. This plan or solution has to please 19/20 citizens in Kosova.
(KS, 29. August 2007 18:47)

Now take all those statistics and throw them out the window... because...

Albanians form 23% of Serbian population. Making them Serbs with alban heritage.

10.1m people in Serbia

23% albans
67% Serbs
10% other

That plan is not good for 3/4 of our people.

"If Kosovo should be a country, and deserves to be one... why are there "PEACEKEEPERS"? I don't recall peacekeepers needed in Serbia, does anyone else?"

If I can recall PEACEKEEPERS where no good for Serbia.
Luciano, worst case scenario Kosova/ will resemble Albania. After all we are one and the same people, same culture, same language, same social rules. This is the worst case scenario for the Serbs. In an independent Kosova/o the US will have one of the most pro-American people on earth, like Albania.
About the borders. Kosova/o has always had its borders;always, even before medieval times. Therefore new borders are not being created. Kosova/o within its borders is no longer going to be under Serbian administration. According to Ahtisari's plan Kosova/o within its borders is going to be a responsability of the EU. That is what Albanians are asking for. What better way to integrate within the EU than the EU being directly responsible for your integration within it. Ahtisari's plan allows for it, and that is what Albanians are asking for.

6 million Mother Teresa type of Albanians I would gladly welcome to my country so please make no mistake that I consider the Albanians a beautiful race of people and give kudos to them for not allowing religion to separate them to the extent that it has separated the Slavs but to become European means to embrace no borders and not by creating new ones.

Wait, Wait, Wait, Luciano!
Calm down man. Ischinger has never claimed that independence is off the table. What is the matter with people changing these stories? We all have Internet access at home, we can all read the news. I don’t think anyone should explain in this site, what he or she said. We all know the situation, furthermore we are all very involved. Just the fact that we take the time to comment here shows our interest on the process. U.S, Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Great Britain, Slovenia, Macedonia, Albania, Russia, etc, have not change their view. All they have done is claim that all the possibilities are on the table, but who am I to tell you guys? You know just as much as I do, because you read the same news.
Luciano,
And what’s with the anger man? Have you ever been to Kosovo to see mujahadeens running around the city of Pristina, or Peja, or Gjakova, throwing themselves into UN buildings? It is utterly pathetic to read these comments. If a Serb makes a good argument I always read it, regardless of my view. But this nonsense has got to end. Don’t you think?

i do not own any property in Kosovo so I have nothing to lose. However,it troubles me deeply that I have lost 3k fellow countrymen in New York City and another 4k in Iraq not to mention the 30k+ wounded at the hands of mujahadeen who know no mercy.Who came sightseeing at Fort Dix?No Serbs last time I heard.Shalom

"mujahadeen killers", "slaughtering anybody",
"bloodthirsty savages."

Can you show me one comment from albanian side calling serbs these names?
You know you are loosing Kosovo, at least make it a decent loss, no need for this kind of language.

Troop levels should be greatly increased with Serbia requesting only Greek soldiers to be stationed at religious sites and in the north.

luciano

pre 16 godina

Now that Ischinger has told the Albanians that independence is off the EU table the Real KLA is no doubt bringing in mujahadeen killers to southern Kosovo who have no hesitation with slaughtering anybody be they Serbs, Americans or Martians.Greek special forces must be deployed to counter these attacks against the religious sites in the south and protect the priests, monks and nuns while all other Serbs should immediately migrate to the north where the Greek special forces who have trained with the American military will easily repel these bloodthirsty savages.

Kate

the hint about Kosova's future status lies in the world 'solution'. Anything that would make 90% of population of Kosovo unhappy, it would not be SOLUTION but a problem.

Is it right to expect 2 million poeple to live in a state that tried to murder them?

Simple undeniable fact is that albanians do not want to live within Serbia. Its not a threat of violence, its a fact - international community knows that any decision that is not acceptable for the popualtion of Kosovo is not a solution! Accept it.

The only thing the would change this, if albanians were suddenly to fall in love with Serbia, and want to remain within Serbia.

I am afraid Koshtunica needs to work on his 'chat up' lines.

"Kather expressed the belief that the people of Kosovo were sure the talks on the province’s status were a political process “which should and must be resolved in a political manner.”"

Yes, as long as the political process goes the way the want. This is all such blackmail and playing on the fear of the UN/ Nato/ EU to have to deal with any violent uprising.
