Belgrade still without negotiating team

And Im sure if Serbia in the end gets a decision not favourable to itself it will argue that it wasnt given a chance to prepare, etc etc etc and will of course blame everyone else. Hopefully people of serbia will not fall for this again and let an incompetent government get away with it. Unfortunately in serbian politics there is a culture of constant propaganda and no culture which breeds good negotiating skills and this will be its downfall.

I wonder what Princip, Kate & company would have to say to this. They have been going on and on for months now about the K-Albanians not taking the talks seriously and the Serbs don't even have a team yet. But I guess the Serbs and thei government cannot do anything wrong, because they seem to be genetically immune to making mistakes, and since these guys seem to define seriousity based on the actions of the Serb government, I guess from now on it is considered more serious not to have a team than to have a team which makes its views clear before the talks.

AIC, i think nobody wants to volunteer because they would be blamed forever for loosing Kosovo forever. Maybe even death threat will follow the "traitors".
If they had a strong argument against independence the positions would have already been filled, in order to look like the heroes who saved kosovo.

Polticians in belgrade have no vision for future of serbia proper and are playing all these games to keep their post at any coast even if it means to lie to the entire serb nation and i mean serbs only.

Getting back to the article; I will not call it a "Negotiating team", becaseu there is no negotiation for Kosova's Independence, we can talk for neighborly relations and other things, that is all.

Unlike Pristina, Serbia has a numerous variety of different politicians. Ones that are conservative, some that are agressive, some that are nationalistic, and many others. If we are to talk directly to albans I am sure they would want someone as stubborn as they can find. If they are to talk to the "troika" Im sure they would use the most diplomatic politicians they have.

I seriously doubt that we will lose Kosovo anymore. As well as all of the politicans would be praised for saving Kosovo for the next 1000 years in Serbia if they won. If they lost and managed to keep North they would be praised for 500. So I am all too certain that there is no shortage of volunteers.

As for Pristina its the same negotiating team, over, and over, and over again. So as soon as we r informed at the type of negotiations that will be taking place the proper team will be assembled.

Belgrade is trying to get Ahtisaari to represent them at the negotiations - being that he's unemplyed now. They are just waiting for the final figures from Pristina, to see what to pay him.

I don’t blame BG negotiation team that is still not settled, because it’s not easy at all keeping Serbian citizens a hostage of the Kosova’s status for a decades, and at the end telling the people they “lost it”. That’s exactly at what is west afraid too! Neither west neither Kosova do not want radicals to step up on the scene.
Giving a BG further negotiations is nothing else but giving them a chance to stay in the power, so they can justify themselves telling people “they did all what’s possible”, but “the west and US took Kosova anyway”!

To negotiate you need to have something worth negotiating. belgrade has nothing to offer to Kosova, Kosova has been de facto independence for almost 9 years with it's own government, military force, etc etc. What is there to negotiate?

I could name a handful of technical things that need to be taken into these talks, like pensions and so on.

Perhaps Prishtina delegation should include some of Kosovo’s radicals who (unlike in Serbia) are successfully muffled and controlled. That does not mean that they do not represent a large chunk of Kosovo’s population though…

There are a couple of parties that publicly request unification with Albania. Would that bring unification with Albania on the table as well? How about Albin Kurti (who has experienced the Serbian hospitality numerous times)?

Kosovo delegation has already compromised and put itself in an unfavorable position by not including the whole specter in the negotiating team.

Has any Albanian commentator here ever said something positive, or even neutral, about anything pertaining to Serbia? I'm sure if Belgrade said that Christ's first name was Jesus, Albanians would say that it's not , and that that is Belgrade's propoganda, and that they are lying to their people just to keep their positions. Do you people ever read your own stuff and see how silly it sounds?
