Anti-NATO rgetoric will have two strong aims. First, to speed Kosova's independence and second to keep Kalasnikov Kostunica in power. I can not help but be proud of DSS. They seem to be working harder than the Albanians for Kosova's independence.
-What can an Albanian say but thank God for people like Kostunica, parties like DSS and alienated inteligent leaders from the current serbian administration. Ironically, this paradox will resolve the long awaiting Kosova issue giving their people the long deserved independence.

@Joe,

"the NATO has to accelerate the entry of Macedonia,Albenia and especially of Croatia, this brave democratic country with a fast growing economy (income from the booming tourist industry about 7 billions this year!!!)."

Your posts make me laugh. If croatia is so pro west, than why is anti-eu rhetoric at a fever pitch there. Yes, I visit croatia on a regular basis to see my serbian family and this is the case.

We are not concerned about whether croatia is pro eu or nato. We are concerned about serbian affairs here. I never understood why some croats still obsess over serbian affairs, that they feel they always have to impress us with economic news tidbits.

You have a tendency to remind us in several posts about croatia's travel industry. You should feel lucky that the romans left you a viable tourist infrastructure, but I have not seen too much innovation in other industries. BTW Nikola Tesla is a self confessed Serb who has changed the world, so until you export human capital or inventions in that spirit, enjoy your coffee shops on the sea! Whatever makes you feel "brave" as you say.

Gentlemen, I know that Serbia has been on the waiting list regarding acceptance in the PfP program. I believe they are being considered or if not, they have actually been accepted, I'm unaware of the current status.
My point is that, how can Nato
consider or accept someone as a partner on the one hand, and yet, destroy them with the other. They will have to choose, but it cannot be both.

In the early fifties in many communist countries the requirement to become a minister was not so much the educational/professional background but the absolute loyalty to the parti and being of the proletariat. In today's Serbia to be a DSS minister one has to demonstrate readiness and ability for polemic and retoric against the US and the NATO. That is the main requirement in Kalashnikov Kostunica's government. I am glad that these bosos act this way. They will completely alienate the NATO countries. They realy don't belong to the NATO, not even to the Partnership for Peace Program, where there were so eager to enter. The NATO has to accelerate the entry of Macedonia,Albenia and especially of Croatia, this brave democratic country with a fast growing economy (income from the booming tourist industry about 7 billions this year!!!). If Serbia under Kalashnikov Kostunica reverts to her habits and undemocratic traits of the Molosevic era than let it be. Respect their choice. But for the protection of the neighboring states create a "cordon sanitaire" around it. This way Serbia will become a kind of isolated reservation.

paul "One more thing, isn't it a contradiction in terms when Nato wants Serbia in the Partnership for Peace Program "
Man you got it wrong, Serbia has been applying since 4 years for the pfp.
Just to let you know.
And as for us worried about serbias reputation, we want good neighbours thats all, independence will come and a new chapter will start, we still will be neighbours.
I dont see what is so wrong with that!

Paul you're naive. The way you write about it, is as if NATO is going to cease to exist if Serbia refuses to join it, so NATO has to beg the Serbs to join or else there will be no more NATO. The same goes for EU.

Paul

You just got to love them!! Finaly the DSS gathered the courage to stand up to the US
and the pro-albanians are being sympathetic by stating that it could be damaging for the Serbs, Somehow I just can't link it together. One more thing, isn't it a contradiction in terms when Nato wants Serbia in the Partnership for Peace Program
on the one hand, and yet wants to create it's own state on Serbian land on the other. The US has to make up its mind, which one is it going to be.

This is purely designed at politicians wanting to appear tough to serbian public. Unfortunately rest of the world dont particularly care. Even in NATO is creating Kosovo as a military state, Kosovars I doubt would mind and I doubt the west, with whom Kosovo is looking towards cares either.

Princip i know you feel useless trying to protect radicals that don't have their populations interests but to support another milosevic mirror. It is sad to see you jumping from branch to brunch trying to grab what ever little argument against independence there is! First you say int law should be upheld but before that you broke the int law.
As for nato in iraq "The decision to establish a NATO training mission in Iraq was made in 2004 in response to a request of the Iraqi Interim Government.

All NATO member countries are contributing to the training effort either in or outside Iraq, through
financial contributions or donations of equipment."
I think training should be beneficial to all who need it.

Popovic is right to point out what NATO (specifically the US) would like to do. However he is wrong about no states where NATO has no civilian authority and missed the opportunity of pushing the point even further - 2 examples where NATO is acting with no civilian control is Iraq and Afghanistan. In the last 7 months over 400 civilians alone have been killed by NATO attacks in apparent attempts to quell the insurgent Taleban - more then anything the Serbian forces did in 2 years stopping the KLA terrorist attacks on Serbian territory! Mayeb the qualifying word would be no "independent" state seeing as what they wish to achive in all honesty is a NATO military state out of Serbia's southern province where they have total control over the local mafiocracy!
