Wheat exports still on hold

Grain export ban was the worst decision made by the Serbian Government, because now all neighboring countries who are relying in Serbian grain are looking for alternative grain markets, Serbia had preferential treatment in Kosovo market over other grain exporting countries since Serbian grain and other Serbian products are exempted form custom duty while for grain coming form other countries custom duty is applied. With a pressure from business community, Kosovo Government decided to abolish custom duty for grains coming form other countries with this decision all grain exporting countries are now in equal position in Kosovo grain market. As result of this decision a Kosovo company contracted 25000 MT wheat from USA at price 192€ /T, within 7 days the shipment will arrive in port of Durres, Albania. While other countries with market driven economies are looking to expand and gain more markets with this decision Serbia is losing its current markets and customers.
