According to at least one Israeli source, some of the (primarily Bosnian Croat) supporters of Siroki Brijeg were chanting 'Sieg Heil' and making Nazi salutes toward the Hapoel Tel Aviv supporters. It doesn't excuse arson, even accidental, or hooliganism, if true, but I wonder if both teams will be expelled from the UEFA Cup competition? For different reasons, of course.

Last year, the Croats were the first team to play newly-crowned Football World Champions Italy, who beat France in the final. In that match, their supporters were photographed making a 'human swastika', which at the time bemused some Italian supporters and media outlets.

No doubt some Croatian football supporter will tell me that the swastika is an ancient Indian symbol and was in use long before the Third Reich used it.
