Actually Ahmet the British Columbian government is paying me to do anything I want and the NY stock market helps a lot as well that is why I have so much time on my hands. So Ahmet what will it be for us who fantasize and believe in myth, lions, scalps at 50 cents a head, ovens, gulags or grandees in cafes ?

my dear ahmed...
if you choose the comparison to a family at all...then you should realize that Serbia is the parent, and not any kind of equal spouse. K-albanians are the children, that belong to the house of their parents.

get real and "wake up" from your nationalist dreams!

educate yourself in order to improve your skills in regard to comparisons!

there will not be such a thing like "divorce"...

World according to Ahmet I hope not, “People living with phantasies and myths have no place in this world”. We have had people in history with Ahmet’s view of what was someone’s place in the world. Some rulers threw Christians to the lions, others paid 50 cent for every scalp of an Indian, others burned Jews in the Owens, .others sent people to the gulags, and Ahmet now tells us people with fantasies have no place in the world and he follows this by telling us to “wake up this is 21 century”. Ahmet is this a held belief of yours or is this a problem with English? I admire all of you who post here and struggle with English so this is not a negative comment Ahmet. I am sure you meant that fantasies and myth have no place in the world but people holding them are OK. I sometimes have fantasies and love reading about myths and that is OK too don’t you think?

Cvele,

aswell as the "axis of oil" you can add the current US "credit crunch" that has global markets in jitters! US influence (imperialism) on the world is depreciating faster then the Dollar itself. But this is in large part all of it's own making. In 4 months time we will have a better picture of the US fragility and I very much doubt they will want to shoot themselves in the foot by losing the last ounce of credibility by Illegal attempts at undermining & by-passing the UN by themselves for a insignificant base in Kosovo & Metohija. All other EU partners in the NATO alliance want out of Kosovo & Metohija and of course in early winter (10th December) will not wish to upset their gas supplies beacuse of failed US foreign policy. But then of course I congratulate the positive nature of the ethnic-Albanians in their continued hope but saddly it is a misplaced hope of promises from the US who clearly will never deliver.

Walter

Cleave excellent link on the “Axis of Oil’ and related to Kosovo. Until recently all oil sales throughout the world were in American dollars. American dollar value is established through the fluctuating exchange rate on the world market. The more demand for US dollars the more expensive the dollar in terms of other currencies. With a strong dollar US imports are cheaper thus US consumer benefits. As demand for oil increased the demand for American dollars increased as well. Oil producing nation forced to sell oil in US dollars accumulated huge dollar reserves which they used to purchase US products. Some Arab dictatorships like the Saudis and Kuwaitis also purchased US real-estate and business where they now own about 12% of American economy. Along comes Iraq and Iran who insist on selling oil in other currencies and even using barter. This precedent was devastating for the American economy thus the attack on Iraq and threats to invade Iran; the present issue of nuclear development in Iran is a smokescreen to destabilize Iran. As soon as US took Baghdad Russian, Chinese and French oil companies lost their contracts to US companies, the main one being Cheney’s Halliburton.
Iran’s switch to sell oil in other currencies was followed by Venezuela and Russia. These countries are world’s main oil suppliers and by nationalizing their oil resaves they were able to break this US dollar monopoly. Unlike Saudis and the Kuwaitis who use oil to enrich one or two families the Axis of oil is using their new wealth to make their nations stronger. Russia as Cleave so rightly stated is an up and coming economy. Recently they have shifted 50% of their US dollar reserves to other currencies and I think it is a very smart move as the US dollar may be headed for a crash just like the rubble did with the collapse of USSR. If some of you remember India owed USSR some 12 billion rubbles from military sales prior to the collapse of USSR. This was payable in rupees which at the time exchanged at six to one I think. When the rubble collapsed the exchange was 1 rupee to six rubbles India though that they had a windfall. India attempted to pay a 18 billion US debt to Russia with 3 billion. My math may be off here but you get the general idea. I am not sure how this was finally negotiated but holding US dollars can lead to the same scenario for any nation holding large amounts of US dollars as reserves.
Because of this as Cleave’s link indicates “The “Axis of Oil” led by Russia, Iran, and Venezuela, is slowly chipping away at the US dollar’s status as the world’s “reserve currency.” Russia, the world’s second largest oil exporter demands rubles in exchange for its Urals crude oil, and Iran, the world’s fourth largest oil exporter is earning most of its revenues in the Euro. Venezuela’s central bank began shifting its FX reserves to Euros in 2005. Chinese dragon decides to shift more of their trade surpluses towards the Euro or gold, it could seriously undermine the US dollar, increasing the cost of US imports, and corral the US economy into the “Stagflation” trap”.
How does this relate to Yugoslavia? US was not allowed to install military bases in sacred Mohammedan soil of Saudi Arabia until Bush Senior with the help of the media fabricated an Iraqi invasion of Saudi Arabia. “The claim that satellite photos revealed that Iraq had troops poised to strike Saudi Arabia was also fabricated by the PR firm.” Saudis allowed US bases with the infidel army on its soil as deterrence against Iraq. This invasion was a hoax fabricated by Bush Sr. and his advisors ttp://www.counterpunch.org/cohen1228.html Russian satellite photos proved that this was a hoax. By establishing a base in Saudi Arabia one point of the oil protection triangle was installed. The next point was to secure Central Asia and a billion dollars later Georgia was the next dot. Within a year or so a new oil pipeline was built from Azerbaijan (Caspian Sea Basin) Baku across Georgia and Turkey to a port north of Cypress. This pipeline is intended to join with another one from Kurdish held Kirkut in north Iraq. The oil line is only few feet under the ground subject to terrorist attacks, thus the third dot of the triangle Kosovo. To protect the oil supplies and to eliminate the move away from oil for dollars to other currencies US military moved to bases in Romania, Bulgaria and Kosovo where we have one of the largest military buildups outside of USA. I wonder if Afrim, Alban, Adrian, John, Mehanikarin, bganon and my friend from NY lazer can connect the dots of the triangle. Lazer we seem to be getting friendlier lately and if you come to the most beautiful province in Canada, BC for the 2010 winter Olympics I will show you around.

Predictor,

Fortunately the rest of the world takes a more balanced view of the parties involved. Whereas you make exaggerated claims, a more balanced view is evident to us "uninformed" westerners. The seismic shift in the ethnic balance, in the last few decades of Kosovo, is plain for all to see, and how the Kosovo Albanians guarantee human rights for all (I am being facetious). To me that speaks more than the Serbian military adventurism in 1999, under a questionable regime, that is no loner!

I think the end game is clear at this point, Kosovo will take the road of the "backburner," essentially being relegated to
a similar existence as the Basque separatist homeland.

The stakes are simply too high for Europe to allow for ever encroaching Islamic states, whether they involve Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, France, England or Germany. My advice for the Albanians is to recognize that the days of Milosevic are over (although he cannot be entirely faulted for what happened there), and embrace the bright and prosperous future that is in store for Serbia and all of its citizens and minorities, including Albanians!!

Please integrate peacefully into the host countries you choose to make your stay in. This is a huge social issue with serious implications for the stability of the European continent. Europe is holding its breath over Kosovo, but in the end, the only acceptable solution will be implemented, that is, de-facto autonomy. Albanians--have no fear, the international community will provide assistance to you.

In the end I believe that you will recognize that Serbs, Jews, Croats, and Roma have a right to live on that land as well. The world is fast losing patience with ethnic chauvinism of the Balkans.

Despite of 12.000 murdered people, still about 2500 missing, more than 1.000.000 expelled, more than 100.000 houses burned, about 1.000.000.000 DM (at that time) stolen goods from the Albanian businesses, etc. etc., we made a consensus, just spliting with Serbia - that is our consensus! If you still don't realize what consensus means, I can further explain why I consider this as a consensus!

Bganon, this would be an excellent time for Ischinger and the EU to make a bold stand away from the clearly failed policies of Washington and Moscow. I cannot see either of their solutions working for any foreseeable time, so with all the diplomatic and academic accolades we have been hearing about Ischinger, now would be the time for the EU to find a middle route that gives less guarantees to the Albanians while still giving them a state, and more gurarantees to the Serbs as just compensation for the loss of territory.

So in 4 months nothing new will have come out of this, thus leaving Ahtisaari's package as the only option. This time Russia's true colors of an obstructionist, non-constructive political force in the world will come through, thus giving the EU the opportunity to form a united stand in favor of Kosovo's independence. More talks perhaps? Given that the there is no Legal way through without the UN talking is the best option and the other option need not be considered let alone persued.

Princip I'm sure the longer the status is dragged the more this is hurting both of your economies and is a pain to the balkan.

If you look at the Ahtisari plan you will realize that it's the only solution.

Well Cvele, first for Serbia to get in Europe has to solve the Kosova problem. Second, the recession of USA is not a big deal. It was recession in USA when they started the war in Iraq.

I thought you guys didn't want to join EU, but Russia. But then some of you were saying that EU and Kosova are two separate issues. Now they are connected again?

I had enough of being moderate in this forum. After reading some of comments here I decided to change my tune.
I totally agree with Mr.President who says:"Kosova/o's independence and territorial integrity cannot be a subject of negotiations".
Way to go Mr.President, after all even Montenegrins couldn't live together with Serbs.
I don't know who are we kidding with this!!!
Kosova/o the newest country in Europe.

They (EU) r testing Russia. They don't want to turn their backs on the US yet. But they are fully aware they will not get the majority to agree on unilateral actions. EU wants UN. It will always want UN or otherwise despite the fact there are over 500 mil people in Europe, they will be followers of whatever the 300 mil Americans want. It will clearly show that EU is not a democratic society where everyone has say

Consensus! Yes, we already made one!

You are right about Serbia having to solve the Kosovo problem before it can enter the EU. However, presonally speaking Im in no rush to join. If at all.

As for the US recession Im not talking about the hic-up of 9-11 on their economy. Im talking about the oil ports opening in Iran with EU currency. Making EU, Russia and the rest of the world happy... while US dollar takes a 'slight' plunge.

It is becoming so boring reading same thing over and over agian and the irony is the serb camp is flip-flopping so much on every issue that is waste of time to read their posts. Some talk about eternal talks to go on with no solution in site becasue they have no solution to beging, and same posters one time they talk great about mother russia and how they are going to join russia and drop Europe and before you know it they are talking about joining EU.
No further coments , because it is waste of my time for none beleivers in truth.People living with phantasies and myths have no place in this world , wake up this is 21 century.

The billion dollar question of course is which way Wolfgang the EU diplomat will go.

With the US and Russia deadlocked on the issue I'm convinced that the EU will have the casting vote on the future status of Kosovo.

But talks or no talks I'm not convinced that the EU will be able to agree a common position.

If that is the case what will happen next? Anybody with a crystal ball care to comment?

Bganon, this would be an excellent time for Ischinger and the EU to make a bold stand away from the clearly failed policies of Washington and Moscow. I cannot see either of their solutions working for any foreseeable time, so with all the diplomatic and academic accolades we have been hearing about Ischinger, now would be the time for the EU to find a middle route that gives less guarantees to the Albanians while still giving them a state, and more gurarantees to the Serbs as just compensation for the loss of territory.

Why on earth would a member of Serbia's government insinuate that the Athassari Plan isn't dead? Even the US doesn't bother beating that dead horse any longer. He's getting tantilizing close to treason with such manner of thought and speech.

I wish people here would take more care in their English writing and grammar. Perhaps use spellcheck through Microsoft Word? It only takes a minute. Please be kind to your intended audience.

Zdravo!

Walter

Actually Ahmet the British Columbian government is paying me to do anything I want and the NY stock market helps a lot as well that is why I have so much time on my hands. So Ahmet what will it be for us who fantasize and believe in myth, lions, scalps at 50 cents a head, ovens, gulags or grandees in cafes ?

Cvele,

aswell as the "axis of oil" you can add the current US "credit crunch" that has global markets in jitters! But then of course I congratulate the positive nature of the ethnic-Albanians in their continued hope but saddly it is a misplaced hope of promises from the US who clearly will never deliver.

my dear ahmed...
if you choose the comparison to a family at all...then you should realize that Serbia is the parent, and not any kind of equal spouse. K-albanians are the children, that belong to the house of their parents.

get real and "wake up" from your nationalist dreams!

educate yourself in order to improve your skills in regard to comparisons!

there will not be such a thing like "divorce"...
