Let's step back from the political aspect of this for one second: here we have a man who ran a red light and in doing so "severely injured a pedestrian." He then had the gall to deny his guilt despite "eyewitness," testimony that he did, in fact, run a red light. Essentially what we have here is a member of society who should very probably now be in jail; at the very least he should be condemned for his actions.

Here is the time to return to the political aspect of this story: how is it that the DSS are yet to have expelled him from the party? Surely it couldn't be the case that they, like this man, regard their fellow citizens of Serbia - or at least, those who aren't fellow DSS members - with contempt?

I would also expect the University of Novi Sad to at the very least suspend him without pay for a period of time. I only wish I were a student of his. Then again, that would mean I would be attempting the impossible - graduating from a Serbian university (without money or connections).

Apologies to the six people who have actually graduated from a Serbian university in the past without using money or connections.
