Some of the KLA's key victims were Albanians who worked for the Serbian government in any capacity - even forest rangers, for example.

Some Albanians did have to flee Kosovo when NATO/KLA took over - and many went to Serbia, especially Vojvodina.

Attacks on roadway, roadblocks, etc. and done with heavy weaponry of the type used in wars, and done in coordination with many others, is not typical robbery. These are usually practice/testing/nascent military maneuvers. And they are often the first sign of potential war. Similar was done in Bosnia with ambushes of traffic crossing the border of Serbia into Bosnia.

Seems the Serbs in Belgrade and other parts who don't visit and live in places in or close to the tensions are very clueless, very dumb.

bganon, you've got your head in the sand.

No bganon, the grenades thrown into cafés killing young adults by the KLA and killing of traffic police officers monitoring the speed on the roads so that you don’t kill yourself started the Kosovo conflict. How simple should I write my comments so you can understand the consequences of terrorism in any society. If the KLA had done what they did in Kosovo in USDA they would all be dead or in Guantanamo.

Slobodan Milosevic's ethnic cleansers are back in the headlines, Kosovo caught between a pushy Kremlin and weak-kneed Europe, the Kosovars are being denied their happy ending. Moscow and its Serbian mini-me cousins are turning Kosovo into a proxy for larger fight with the West. Which, naturally, suits Russia fine. A weak-kneed Europe might unite in response to the Kremlin's provocation. This one is splintering also as in the early 1990s always blame everyone but Serbs.

No doubt that this is all well planned by the Albanians. Serbs must be smart about this and vigilant. Serbia must also continue to stress to the world that the Albanians are Muslims and Serbians are Christians. Even if the Western governments are too scared to mention that the real problem is radical Islam, the people of the world know and are warry (it's just not politically correct to say it). Serbia must stick to international law, insist on it being implemented and above all gather strength and direction from its Christianity to do what is right. Milosevic era is over and has been for nearly a decade and now we have law on our side unlike the muslim Albanians. Insist on the law and NOTHING less.

albanians intimidating people to speed up independence(wich they wont get sounds ridiculous, it makes much more sense that this is some kind of conspiracy by belgrade, secret serbian police forces disguisd as albanian attackers trying tp convince the world albanians are bad and violent./sarcasm

by threatening the regional stability Albanians risk all. Serbia can bring stability into Kosmet, in a "co-production" with international troops.

Anything that happen its Albanian's fault, good way to improve the ethnic relation. What are the facts? Find them first and then make the summary, though that will be just an option, cause they might have been paid well from someone...
Peace to Kosovo & Serbia

These thugs will have to try a lot harder to provoke a severe reaction from the Serb military/police. This is not like the old Milosevic days.

The longer Kosovo negations go the less Albanians will get. Remember the mistakes made by Serbs in Krajna? Obviously not....

I assume, using heavy weaponry, rocket launchers, etc, is normal for small thieves? Sure, they always haul the artilery when going to rob people and shoot at the vehicle tires...

Well let me interpret this as it is a little confusing.

The implication of the story is that either

a it was an organised (Albanian) group connected to a political party.
b that it was Serbian state security.
c that it didnt happen at all like they claim.
d some combination of the above ie there may have been less men involved.

Dragisic wont mention it but he is trying to disprove b.

He is one of those 'analysts' that is quite close to the Serbian government which may or may not be good on one level but it does mean we must take what he says with a pinch of salt. Frankly I'm surprised he didnt try to call it terrorism.

I still believe that this is an internal matter between the ethnic Albanian parties in the area but one cannot ignore the fact that it may be something to do with the Kosovo issue or even be an attempt by state security to sow discord in the south.
