Incredible! I notice that B92 removed my post about the smuggling! So the "suggest for removal" button actually works! WOW.
B92 I cannot take you people seriously, you allow such foolish HATE comments posted by Albanians announcing contientiously the Serbs are the worst killers of Baby's and young Albanian men and mass rapers of Albanian women and yet you remove my post because I suggested the Albanian government would turn a blind eye to smuggling which is probably what they would do! I suppose next you will not allow this post because I am critsizing you now! Be fair...

Isn't it ironic that when Kfor soldiers "smuggle" a few cartons of cigerettes and a couple of bottles of booze to give out as presents on returning home it is a serious crime to the Serb apologists on this site.
However, when Serb troops raped, murdered and looted and burned homes in Kosovo, Croatia and Bosnia, not a peep of protest or condemnation was heard from these same Serb apologists.

Obilic,

Smuggling cigarettes and booze are a national past time in Serbia. Especially during the sanctions period. How can you possibly not be aware of that? Don't you go to Serbia to visit? In addition every single time I've seen Serbs come to visit in the US, they always bring tons of "Grandpa's" Rajika in old beat up 2-liter soda bottles.

Louie is 100% correct, this kind of low level smuggling for personal use is part of the culture of the Balkans and one of the things I find so charming about our people.

Dear Canadien, you shouldn't link this with the attitude of future government of Kosova/o.
It is my personal opinion,I am not in government of Kosova/o,I am only saying that is not a big crime that needs so much talking about.
If you lived in Balkans then you should know about smuggling business,a lot of us used to go to Turkey or Greece and bring back some goods for personal use or to make a profit, the goods weren't stolen but were paid and smuggled in coaches!
So I won't go there a speculate about the attitude of future government of Kosova/o but would analyze your attitude towards everything that has to do with Albanians.
Change your attitude towards Albanians and maybe you will see a difference!!!

Of course you don't think its a crime! It does not surprise me one bit. If Kosovo would be granted independence your government would have the same attitude for a whole range of crimes.

Key word "your government," I'm glad your acknowledging the fact that there is a government canada. BTW since when did Kosova have problems with smuggling, prostitutes (from Moldovia) and all these crimes? Answer would be, ever since KFOR was formed.

I'm glad they were caught.

Matthew, had it been cocaine and heroin, could we then compare it how much the average Albanian uses it in a week??? Stealing is stealing and it shows how corupt the foreign governments are in Kosovo.

Please, this is so obviously for personal use and not for resale. Its 2 or 3 cartons of smokes per soldier and 3 bottles of booze. That's not even a weeks worth of "supplies" for your average Slav.

I bet their wages are not as good as other KFOR soldiers in Kosova/o and I don't see a big crime commited.

I would have been more shocked if the story was about KFOR soldiers actually having done any meaningful and effective peacekeeping. Get accounting: T-shirts confiscated from a group of Serbs the other month = some; Churches burned down or destroyed since KFOR arrived= many; Serb-populated ghettos=more than zero, which is too many even if it was just the one, and an indictment for KFOR's inability to create a normalized condition for living for non-Albanians living in Kosovo province.

I am a bit surprised, normally I hear "Albanians" are the best smugglers in Europe and now they are facing a tough competition from Slovakians!!!
Anyway, joke a side,I think soldiers are humans as well and they can do a bit of smuggling,it's not the time now that if you are a soldier you have to be 100% honest.
